Hillary Clinton seen leaving hospital after blood clot treatment...and then spotted heading back

inside a short while later
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton emerged briefly Wednesday from a Manhattan hospital only to run around and head back inside a short time later.
Clinton, last seen in public on Dec. 7, exited from a side entrance at New York-Presbyterian Columbia Hospital and returned about 15 minutes later.
Both the hospital and the State Department declined comment on the former First Ladys strange and short trip. Clinton, 65, was admitted Sunday with a potentially dangerous blood clot.
Clinton was treated with blood thinners to help dissolve the clot located near her brain, doctors said. An MRI revealed the problem shortly after Clinton suffered a concussion in a fall last month.

(4,788 posts)that are not connected to one another. One of the stories I've heard about Columbia Presbyterian is that back in the 1920s they built a brand new, state of the art building on campus. It wasn't until the nurses reported for duty that they discovered one fatal flaw - there was no changing room for women.

(70,501 posts)A blood clot at home might be a real threat but in a hospital setting it
can be treated and watched. I hope Hillary gets well soon she has been
an outstanding Sec. of State and she has worked very hard for all of us.

(30,247 posts)Several neurologists explained that the type of clot that Hillary has was very rare and it was probably caused by her severe dehydration due to the stomach virus that was afflicting her at the time (extreme dehydration thickens the blood). The clot could have become dangerous if it had been left untreated, but the experts said that these type of clots respond when to anticoagulants.
In other words, once she makes a full recovery there is almost no chance of her getting that type of clot ever again. Four years is a long time, if her health holds and if she wants to run, there shouldn't be any impediment to it.

Breaking: Hillary Clinton discharged from hospital
(CNN) Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been discharged from a New York hospital after spending three days being treated for a blood clot, the State Department announced Wednesday.
Secretary Clinton was discharged from the hospital this evening. Her medical team advised her that she is making good progress on all fronts, and they are confident she will make a full recovery. She's eager to get back to the office, and we will keep you updated on her schedule as it becomes clearer in the coming days. Both she and her family would like to express their appreciation for the excellent care she received from the doctors, nurses and staff at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical Center.
Chelsea Clinton also posted about her mother's release from the hospital.

(2,749 posts)I'm sure they meant to say she "turned" around. No one has corrected this as yet, as far as I know. And her office released a statement saying she was released from the hospital so I don't know what is going on.

(25 posts)she left something inside, maybe she went back to thank someone, good grief!
I know that you all won't talk to me but frankly I don't care anymore so read this and think for a change. DUH!
And quit whining among yourselves about whether an election victory is good or not and whether this latest dog and pony show with boner and repugs is a victory or not!
Take your wins when you get them and hope for many more of course. Get your ass out and fight for more like I do. Quit living your life at a computer screen typing crap and do something.

(30,247 posts)He's usually measured in his remarks and is a very well educated man. I would have expected that kind of garbage from Limbaugh, et al. Then again, a former UN ambassador and a Representative from FL were just as asinine with their comments.
What happened to common decency and civility?

Hope Hillary makes a full recovery. She is a great woman and I felt for Chelsea and Bill.
Repubs are, for the most part, not good people. And who walked Republican Sen. Kirk up the steps of the Capitol building today? He came back to the Senate today after his stroke. It was Sen Manchin and Vice President Biden, two Democrats. I think one party obviously has more civility and decency then the other.

(30,247 posts)Although I was a taken back by the nastiness from pundits and bloggers on many sites. If they really thought that Hillary would fake an illness to avoid testifying on Benghazi, then they don't know the woman at all. John McCain laughed at the suggestion and said that he had never known Hillary to back away from a fight.
Thanks for the good wishes, I've been very worried about her. I will stop worrying when they manage to dissolve the clot altogether. It's a very rare kind of clot. The head of neurology at Beth-Israel said that the hospital only gets around 5 cases in a whole year. The head of Mount-Sinai said something similar. Tough way to end her term as SOS.
Happy New Year!!!

(9,893 posts)Check the web to see if "Inside Politics with Gordon Peterson" is available. It's a DC program. Krauthammer talks all the time, and he has said some really horrible things. For a while I stopped watching it because Peterson couldn't keep darling Charles under control. I don't know about you, but I can't stand watching the darling lecture to himself for a minute let alone 30.
