Hamas tells negotiators it doesn't have 40 Israeli hostages needed for first round of ceasefire

Source: CNN/Yahoo

Hamas has indicated it is currently unable to identify and track down 40 Israeli hostages needed for the first phase of a ceasefire deal, according to an Israeli official and a source familiar with the discussions, raising fears that more hostages may be dead than are publicly known.

The framework that has been laid out by negotiators says that during a first six-week pause in the fighting, Hamas should release 40 of the remaining hostages, including all the women as well as sick and elderly men. In exchange, hundreds of Palestinian prisoners would be released from Israeli prisons.

Hamas has told international mediators – which include Qatar and Egypt - it does not have 40 living hostages who match those criteria for release, both sources said.

They should at least release the bodies to allow the families to mourn and to bury

4. I think a sticking point is that Hamas refuses to release Israeli soldiers, who are among the number of hostages.

Hamas is not a government. Gaza has no government... just some (mostly non-Palestinian) terrorist fucks running the shitshow. Corrupt, vile, rapist, fascist, theocratic scum who don't give a single Allah-damned fuck about "The Children" that the Western world is freaking out about.

In fact, they're no doubt very pleased with how things are going. They've got moronic self-entitled American trust-fund kids sporting Amazon-bought keffiyehs and shouting "From the River to the Sea" and "Genocide Joe" on American streets.

Once again, I have to wonder:

Where are all the anti-Hamas protests?

Where were they during the Arab Spring?

I think they have the 40 hostages needed.

But they're so raped and abused, they don't want the world to know what happened to them.

. . . the bodies of the deceased are sacred and need to be buried properly. The fact that they won't release the bodies is abhorrent.

There is even an organization in Israel called Zaca, that will carefully collect and identify, by DNA if needed, all body parts for funerals. Incidentally, they consider this work so important and so sacred that they will do the same for the attackers.

14. Huh? Both Judaism and Islam have rules of burying their dead. Our forces followed the Islamic one with bin Laden

and one hopes that Hamas would at least allow the families of the dead hostages to follow their customs.

From Times of Israel

“At this point in time, we can’t get them all back,” Barnea told ministers during a high-level meeting discussing the negotiations Tuesday night, Channel 12 reported. He said the offer on the table now was “a humanitarian deal for 40 hostages,” referring to women, children, the elderly, or those requiring medical attention.
