P Diddy Boosts Campaign To Protect Sioux Land

P Diddy and Bette Midler have become the latest celebrities to back an online campaign to raise money so Native American tribes can purchase land they consider sacred.

The fundraising effort aims to buy nearly 2,000 acres (800 hectares) of pristine prairie grass in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Three days after the campaign began, P Diddy tweeted "Help save the Sioux Nation! Click here" and linked to the website.

Midler also lent her voice, tweeting: "Incredible story re the Sioux Sacred Grounds. Donate what you can." Around \$6,000 (£3,775) flowed in immediately after P Diddy's tweet.

it to the Sioux. Most of us are trying to pay our mortgage and increasing taxes and utility rates so we can keep our small piece of land.

If it were the Akikra, Crow, or Cheyenne, this would be ok. But the Sioux nation took the land from them ~1700's by force after leaving MN. There only claim to the land is that of conquest.

Honestly they should take the 7 mil they already have and try to fix the economic situation of Pine Ridge ....

and the Lakota nation was driven out of northern MN by the Ojibwa-fights over the ricing grounds however non of that justifies land grabs by Whites which it could appear you are attempting here
