McCain Responds To Obama: ‘We’re Not Picking On Anybody’

Source: TPM

IGOR BOBIC 3:56 PM EST, WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 14, 2012

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) took to the Senate floor on Wednesday to rebut comments made by President Obama in which he admonished McCain and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for launching "outrageous" attacks upon U.N. ambassador Susan Rice for her response to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya.

"We're not picking on anybody," McCain said. "We intend to pursue this until the American people have the answers they deserve. This president and this administration has either been guilty of colossal incompetence, or engaged in a cover-up," McCain added. McCain further clarified that he and Obama "have some disagreement when it's called 'picking on' someone."

Holding his first press conference since his re-election earlier in the day at the White House, Obama emphatically defended Rice against accusations that she lied about the true nature of the attacks in Benghazi that lead to four American deaths.

"If Sen. McCain and Sen. Graham want to go after somebody, they should go after me," Obama said. "I'm happy to have that discussion with them. But for them to go after the U.N. ambassador? Who had nothing to do with Benghazi? To besmirch her reputation? It's outrageous."

This woman by any measure is off the charts bright. She has degrees from two of the finest universities in the world.

My old debate partner was a Truman Scholar and let me tell you he is very bright (alot smarter than me).

but the canned talking points were not believable at the time they were given, and they weren't true.

Rice looked ridiculous stating them, IMHO.

Whoever convinced her to go out there and say that stuff wasn't using good judgment.

I imagine that the pukes would have attacked them, too.

Rice is our ambassador to the UN and in the running for SOS.

You insult her by thinking that she can't withstand these attacks because she's a woman.

I expect the President will tell you and your favorite brain-dead friends everything he knows about the Benghazi attacks when the inquiry results come back

Until then, why don't you lose the effin over-the-top accusations of incompetence and cover-up?

Is just fine with Magoo. I want to see more. I want answers as to why and how our defense building gets hit by ANYTHING. What kind of defense are they giving us? What improvements have been made so that doesn't happen again? Oh and where is that 2.3 TRILLION dollars that went missing a day before 9/11. Hey John, how about you take Sarah shopping, and don't blame anyone for Benghazi. Such bullshit.
