Cops: Woman angered by Obama re-election runs over husband for not voting

Source: Orlando Sentinel

PHOENIX — An Arizona woman, in despair at the re-election of Democratic President Barack Obama, ran down her husband with the family car in suburban Phoenix on Saturday because he failed to vote in the election, police said Monday.

Holly Solomon, 28, was arrested after running over husband Daniel Solomon following a wild chase that left him pinned underneath the vehicle.

Daniel Solomon, 36, was in critical condition at a local hospital but is expected to survive, Gilbert police spokesman Sgt. Jesse Sanger said.

Police said Daniel Solomon told them his wife became angry over his "lack of voter participation" in last Tuesday's presidential election and believed her family would face hardship as a result of Obama winning another term.

The stupid is stong in this one. Note that this took place in Arizona, which Romney won! Thus, her husband's vote would have zero impact because Romney already won the State. Of course, this just happens to be the same State as the Gifford shooting. Perhaps some folks take Rush Limbaugh and Fox News way too literally.

but, didn't check any further. sounded crazy and now I see President Obama's Re-Election is involved! "Obama made me do it!"

Lot of people voted for romney and so many of them brainwashed.. the bitterness must be Off the Charts.

The Secret Service Have their Hands FULL!

But just as the President wasn't going to lose PA by one vote, neither was Romney going to lose Arizona. He won it rather handily.

Your comment is too stupid to alert on, but you really, really, really should know better.

Gabby Giffords? Raul Grijalva?

What's the excuse for Michele Bachmann? Minnesota + cold = frozen brains?

No, it's just that there are crazies all over.

41. With all respect, Bachmann has not run anyone over.

She has said a lot of crazy ass things, she has hidden in a bush from a pride rally, but she has not committed any criminal and or violent acts. Stupid is everywhere. But it takes a special kind of stupid to act out one's anger, hate, fear.

I despise Michele Bachmann, but I have to note that while Arizona's loons are sitting in jail/prison, Minnesota's loon is sitting in Congress. It would be fair for you to point out that our Bat Shit Crazy Rep wields a weapon more powerful than a gun or car, but so far she has done nothing more than wave it around on Faux.

I agree with you that crazy is all over, but you are hinging your statement on a false equivalency.

46. The comment to which I replied

simply stated that Arizona + sun = fried brains. I never denied that we have our crazies.

However, Arizona has also produced a few notables -- myself excluded because I was born in Chicago -- including the aforementioned Giffords and Grijalva. I could point out some of the non-political crazies bred and born and raised in, oh, Illinois, Minnesota, Texas, Louisiana, Maine, or anywhere else. My point was to indicate the unfairness and inaccuracy of the statement "Arizona + sun = fried brains."

Because to be sure not all Arizona's crazies commit crimes for which they go to jail. Brewer, Arpaio, Babeu, Thomas, and a bunch of others are still running free. Symington's one of the few politicians who actually did time.

66. The OP referenced the woman that drove her car over her husband.

in absence of any names in the post you responded to, that leaves us with a context of the woman who ran down her husband. Who you then equated with Bachmann. I pointed out that you used a false equivalency and then you compounded by citing many more names.

I agree with you that crazy is all over, you just haven't made a good case to support your point.

The post I replied to only mentioned Arizona + sun = fried brains.

I was replying to that post, not to the OP.

There have been others on DU today who are suggesting the broad brush remarks are a bit insensitive. I concur. And I think you're just trying to start something. You can start it on your own, since you apparently don't care to actually read what I've written, or else it doesn't penetrate.

Adiós.

37. My Life in AZ hell!

It does not surprise me in the least this person is from Arizona. Especially Mesa! It just needs to be annexed by Salt Lake City. I see and hear these people all day every day from the confines of my barber chair. We're like bar tenders cause we hear it all, and in my part of the valley its very strongly conservatard too!

As a part owner of a barber shop here in Glendale, AZ and "let me tell you something!" (in my best Firemarshall Bill voice) getting my business partner to turn off the Faux News during business hours was like pulling teeth from a rabid coyote! Funny how no matter how many facts you present them or how badly their "news" source fails them, they are undaunted in their ignorance. These are intelligent people but their willful ignorance goes much deeper than that. Just like in religion if you're told something from the very beginning you'll most like not challenge the information. Reminds me of the zealots blowing up abortion clinics saying they were saving the life of the child.

Killing for peace is like fucking for chastity! --author unknown

I used to say Arizona was on the fast track to Kentucky status, in regards to our education system. Then I did some checking and found we've already surpassed them and a couple other states for the honor of being the 44th worst in the US.

That is why when you talk diplomacy they scoff at the notion.

They will not be happy until the Middle East is carpet nuked.

They want to KILL their opposition.

It's the "Death to all who oppose us" mindset.

This is also why they didn't mind seeing torture. They LIKED the fact that we were hurting people.

They wanted to do it to us at the time.
