I also have lost family members in a plane crash -- my cousin and his son. It happened 20 years now. It seems like yesterday.
I've also lost a good friend in a small plane. He was a Vietnam veteran fighter pilot -- a Thunderchief driver. Every day, I miss them. |

|
It's just so hard. You can't imagine how hard it is. I hope she is O.K. and doesn't have a nervous breakdown or a meltdown on live T.V. That would be just terrible to melt down on live T.V. Let's all hope nothing like that ever happens. Goodness gracious. We all hope she can hold it together and stay on an even keel and not freak out and throw a hissy fit or something unfortunate like that.

34. That happened to me once too
|
We were very close to takeoff, when all of a sudden, you could hear all these alarms coming from the cockpit. They brought the plane to a screeching halt. It took four hours to replace the fuse that had blown or whatever.
As a side excitement, one guy demanded to be let back on the plane to retrieve his carry on, which he had left when we deplaned. They told him he couldn't because the power had been shut down and the plane was dark. He screamed and yelled and carried on like a two-year-old, threatening to sue the airline. Finally, they relented and said he could go on as long as he realized the danger. A few minutes later he came back out. He had fallen in the dark and broken his arm. He was screaming and yelling and carrying on like a two-year-old and was threatening to sue the airline for exposing him to such dangerous conditions. |

I suspect the large money people are getting into the mix, trying to bring sympathy to Mitt.
It just may have worked too. Maybe the tragedy would have made Mitt more human, and help him get elected. I'm sure a full investigation will take place with an eye toward sabotage. |

Last edited Fri Sep 21, 2012, 10:09 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) the only thing that I saw that caused smoke in the cockpit were burnt avionics cooling fans. It happened quite a few times that I saw. It was triple redundant (three fans on the plane), so there was little danger.
It was an all day job to replace the fan. |

...and who does it only when necessary AND with doses of motion sickness medicine and some type of doctor-prescribed relaxant I can't even imagine seeing smoke in a plane I was traveling in.
Politically I have little if anything in common with the Romneys, and I want Romney defeated VERY badly. But there is no way I'd ever wish them ill. |

after she realized how ridiculous she looked yesterday. And I'm by no means grave-dancing. I've flown from coast to coast, and had a grueling schedule at times while I got tired, or worn down.
Everyday people have to pull themselves together after they have a bad day or show their ass like Ann Romney did. She is no different than the rest of us that continue on because we have to. She might learn a few things if she does. |
