Romney does not get national security briefings

Source: CBS News

(CBS News) WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney does not currently receive national security briefings, his campaign confirmed to CBS News today.

Typically, presidential candidates begin receiving briefings after securing their party's nomination, which Romney did in Tampa two weeks ago.

"It's a long-standing practice for presidential candidates and select advisers to be provided intelligence briefings following the party's nominating convention," Shawn Turner, the spokesman for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, told CNN in June. "During the last presidential campaign, all the candidates began receiving briefings in September following the conventions."

Turner tells CBS News the process is "moving forward."

from the WH it was a non-issue. On more than one level.

On second thought, hang onto the headline in the OP. We can recycle it once he starts actually receiving the briefing.

Is there any doubt about it? Romney's vision is perpetual war and not even one bit for the benefit of the USA and working class Americans.

Romney has kissed the ring of greed and money, and that becomes more important than country and 99% of Americans.

It seems to intentionally avoid giving any information on how this situation came about.

Does the Romney campaign feel it doesn't need briefings? Did they ask but were refused? Was everyone just taking this a little too casually?

I think the law may require that to receive a clearance, a Presidential candidate must submit two full years of tax returns.

Mr. Romney hasn't quite been able to reach that lofty goal, just yet.

While those briefing are top secret it would allow Romney target on which areas he could criticize Obama ahead of time. We have also found out that Romney is willing to lie to win. So as others have said, he can't be trusted.
