Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown not getting involved for Obama

Source: The Florida Times Union

Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown’s non-appearance at President Barack Obama’s campaign rally in Jacksonville last week was officially because Brown was out of town at a mayors’ conference.

But if he had been in town, he might not have been there anyway.

“I’m not going to get involved in presidential politics. I’m not getting involved in any campaigns,’’ Brown told the Tampa Bay Times on Wednesday, reiterating a nonpartisan stance he expressed during his campaign last year and again before the GOP debate in Jacksonville in January. The Democratic mayor didn’t say whether he’d even vote for Obama, the Times reported.

He said he wants to work on Jacksonville, not national, issues.

What is it with the current crop of faux and spineless Dems? Either they're too cowardly to stand by their president like this guy or they spell Republican with a "D" like Joe Manchin.

Grow a backbone and fight back.

It would be nice to know if there any actual Democrats left. Ones that have progressive values and are not Republican lite.

There are good fightin' Dems out there. If you got out from behind your computer you might be able to do more than parrot keyboard commando talking points when trying to sound like you have a clue.

FYI, even the most blatant anti-Dem posters are at least pretending to be pro-Dem during the election season, you may want to take a page from their current playbook. Remember, the most important part of any strategy is flexibility! Try to keep up.

blue dog democrats are worse than repugs in my book. Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and the rest have been cowering for the last three years because of the tea party and rethug onslaught. I wish, at the national level that the reelection fighting spirit had been prevalent in the last three years.

The Florida dems are the "we are the real republicans" crowd, as the Florida GOP is so far right they even tore Jeb Bush a new one.
