Trump to travel to Brussels for NATO meeting in May

By Associated Press March 21 at 10:34 PM

WASHINGTON — The White House has announced what is expected to be President Donald Trump’s first foreign trip.

Press Secretary Sean Spicer says the president will travel to Brussels, Belgium, on May 25 for a meeting with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization heads of state.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced the meeting earlier Tuesday.

Spicer says the president is looking forward to meeting with his NATO counterparts “to reaffirm our strong commitment to NATO, and to discuss issues critical to the alliance, especially allied responsibility-sharing and NATO’s role in the fight against terrorism.”

I foresee an international embarrassment of epic proportions. Also, the protests in Brussels will be massive.

US President Donald Trump will travel to Brussels in May to attend a meeting of Nato, his first scheduled trip overseas that comes as European leaders remain anxious about whether the US will continue its level of support for the 28-nation alliance.

The White House in a statement announcing the May 25 trip also said that Nato Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg will visit Washington on April 12. In a call last month with Stoltenberg, Trump agreed to join in a meeting of Nato leaders. He is also planning to attend the G-7 Summit during the same month in Italy.

During the election campaign, Trump criticised Nato and Brussels, equating it to “like living in a hellhole right now.”

is Trumty Dumptey going alone? Or are the rest of the Romanoff's along for the ride?

That's 2 months from now. He'll have found a safe place to hide where there is no extradition treaty with the US by then! IMHO.

I will be "In Bruges" those days, way too close to Trump. Procession of the Holy Blood is that day.

Actually, Belgium is pretty close to The Hague. He, W and Cheney could be cellmates.
