Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price said on Sunday that he believes "nobody will be worse off financially" under the Republican bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and dismissed a report that millions will lose coverage if it passes.
"I firmly believe that nobody will be worse off financially in the process that were going through," Price told Chuck Todd on NBC News' "Meet the Press."
He said that coverage is "going to go up" under the American Health Care Act and dismissed again a report from the Brookings Institute estimating that at least 15 million people will lose coverage under the bill.
"Ill tell you that the plan that weve laid out here will not leave that number of individuals uncovered, he said. In fact I believe, again, that well have more individuals covered."

(23,182 posts)I bet he knows better and is just trying to placate the rubes. It worked so well for the campaign, why not keep up the lies and spin? They are trying to keep everyone confused until after the election in 2020. That's why this doesnt become effective until then. It won't have time to dominate the air waves until after the election. After then, he will implement the dictatorship, stop the media and the judiciary, declare a national emergency and abrogate the constitution. Worst case, but sure seems like this is their goal.

(31 posts)Europe can do it and Canada can do it, yet American Republicans keep making all these excuses why it cannot happen in America. The real reason for universal health care not happening in America is that Republicans are rich and greedy.

(12,821 posts)Just asking. Seems to me HHS would be more certain of what's in the bill and why, would be able to demonstrate how the plan works, what it will accomplish, etc.
On edit: Maybe they should let the CBO complete an analysis. Then he wouldn't have to GUESS so much.
