President Donald Trump, through his spokesperson, said Friday that while he repeatedly called employment numbers phony during the presidential campaign, they were very real now.
The quip came during a press briefing and hours after the the Labor Department reported that U.S. employers had added 235,000 jobs in February, exceeding expectations. Spicer said on his Twitter account that it was Great news for American workers, and Not a bad way to start day 50 of this administration.
Trump retweeted a post from the Drudge Report on its Twitter account which read simply: GREAT AGAIN: +235,000
Does the President believe that this jobs report was accurate and a fair way to measure the economy?

Spicer: No Question That 'Deep State' Is Working To Undermine Trump
By ALLEGRA KIRKLAND Published MARCH 10, 2017, 2:23 PM EDT
President Donald Trump is in fact under fire from shadowy operatives working inside the government bureaucracy and intelligence community, according to the White House.
In a Friday press briefing, Press Secretary Sean Spicer was asked if the White House believes theres such a thing as the deep state actively working to undermine the President.
Though he did not use the phrase "deep state" in his response to Yahoo News reporter Hunter Walker, Spicer replied affirmatively.
I think theres no question when you have eight years of one party in office that there are people who stay in government who are affiliated with, joined and continue to espouse the agenda of the previous administration, he said. So I don't think it should come as any surprise that there are people that burrowed into government during the eight years of the last administration and, you know, may have believed that agenda and want to continue to seek it."

(37,329 posts)How very modest. Are you sure you put in all the zeroes? Surely it must have been at least 2,350,000. I mean after all, trump is the best president this country has ever had. Take a bow! Don't hide under a bushel.

(176 posts)Of course tRump will try to take credit. As if HE had anything to do with it. When will the Dems start calling this shit out? We should get the reports of job losses, as it has already begun. And then we should hear about the hospitals closing, and the emergency room's exploding with all those without insurance. People need to continue to call their reps and senators until we get some to do something. We need to call and threaten them we are leaving the R's party because they are against us now. (they always have been but folks are too stupid to bitch about it) even though we are not in that party....
