Trump pledges aid for storm-hit Georgia, Florida and Alabama

Source: Reuters

22 JAN 2017 AT 15:08 ET

President Donald Trump pledged federal assistance for Georgia, Florida and Alabama after the southeastern states were hit by severe storms.

Trump said during a White House ceremony that he had spoken to Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and planned to speak with Florida Governor Rick Scott about the storms.

Trump said he expressed his condolences.

“The tornadoes were vicious and powerful and strong and they suffered greatly,” he said. “So we’ll be helping out.”

That's really weird for January.

But it can't be climate change because it doesn't exist
since Trump deleted it from the WH page.

Who gives a rats ass whether he says vicious or violent. We look ridiculously small making an issue of something like that.

And for the record, its a particularly silly point given that storms often are described as "vicious", even by the National Weather Service.

We've got to be focused in our opposition, not goofy.

And wasting time complaining about language that even the National Weather Service uses just makes us look foolish.

Convince me how that helps.

Why would the federal gov't be sending aid if they haven't? Doesn't that set a dangerous precedent? Is the damage worse than I've been reading? I'm in Florida by the way.
