Al Gore just had an extremely interesting conversation with Trump on climate change

Source: Washington Post

As Donald Trump continues to indicate that he might be willing to change his position on climate change, which he has long called a “hoax,” the president-elect met Monday with former vice president Al Gore, a prominent activist in the fight against global warming.

Gore was in New York for the Climate Reality Project’s 24-hour live broadcast, “24 Hours of Reality,” and was invited to Trump Tower to discuss the topic by Trump’s oldest daughter, Ivanka, who is not registered with a political party and has pushed her father to adopt some positions usually promoted by Democrats.

“I had a lengthy and very productive session with the president-elect. It was a sincere search for areas of common ground,” Gore told reporters after spending about 90 minutes at Trump Tower in Manhattan during the lunch hour Monday. “I had a meeting beforehand with Ivanka Trump. The bulk of the time was with the president-elect, Donald Trump. I found it an extremely interesting conversation, and to be continued, and I'm just going to leave it at that.”

Trump has repeatedly called climate change a “hoax” and said it was perpetrated by the Chinese government to take manufacturing jobs from the United States. But during a meeting with the New York Times late last month, he said he would keep an “open mind” on the issue and acknowledged that human activity might be connected to changes in the climate.

he tends to listen to them. That is why his kids are always around, they monitor his responses because the fucking man can't reason with people. He just makes deals with them. He doesn't have the patience.

I just read that and Ivanka is a big fan! of Gore. What's she planning to do, slip daddy dearest something and take over? Does she not realize her daddy is a insane conspiracy idiot monger? Oh and Gore looks so much older in that photo. As old as my heart feels.

And there is a ton of profit to be had. Renewables are now cheaper than fossil energy. Somebody has to build all the wind and solar farms.

They are bigger than the human race, frankly. If your concern is the risk, it is a risk well worth taking under the global circumstances.

When in fact he is simply a megalomaniac narcissistic businessman that will say anything to close the deal. Of course he'll have to please the Senate and House majorities which are wingnut. But if it were a Democratic majority there he would swing left. I don't think he has any idea about politics in general. Its just what he likes, what will keep his own businesses afloat that is important.

I do think though for that reason he is more happy to have a Republican majority, they are more willing to forego spending on the "little people" and increase spending on tax cuts for his class.

Fuck them! No meetings. No "understandings". No cooperation of any kind. Nothing. We are giving this fascist legitimacy. Which gives him power.

That's it folks. When even the most public figure on climate change goes crawling to him we have lost.

I officially have no respect or time for anyone that caves to this fascist shit stain.
