Putin ally tells Americans: vote Trump or face nuclear war

Source: Reuters

Americans should vote for Donald Trump as president next month or risk being dragged into a nuclear war, according to a Russian ultra-nationalist ally of President Vladimir Putin who likes to compare himself to the U.S. Republican candidate. Vladimir Zhirinovsky, a flamboyant veteran lawmaker known for his fiery rhetoric, told Reuters in an interview that Trump was the only person able to de-escalate dangerous tensions between Moscow and Washington.

By contrast, Trump's Democratic rival Hillary Clinton could spark World War Three, said Zhirinovsky, who received a top state award from Putin after his pro-Kremlin Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) came third in Russia's parliamentary election last month.

Many Russians regard Zhirinovsky as a clownish figure who makes outspoken statements to grab attention but he is also widely viewed as a faithful servant of Kremlin policy, sometimes used to float radical opinions to test public reaction.

"Relations between Russia and the United States can't get any worse. The only way they can get worse is if a war starts," said Zhirinovsky, speaking in his huge office on the 10th floor of Russia's State Duma, or lower house of parliament. "Americans voting for a president on Nov. 8 must realize that they are voting for peace on Planet Earth if they vote for Trump. But if they vote for Hillary it's war. It will be a short movie. There will be Hiroshimas and Nagasakis everywhere."

Zhirinovsky, who said he met Trump in New York in 2002, revels in his similarities with the American businessman - they are the same age, favor coarse, sometimes misogynistic language and boast about putting their own country first. Zhirinovsky has even said he wants a DNA test to see if he is related to Trump.

I read that this is a sign that the lower brain (amygdala?) is doing the driving, rather than the higher centers of logic and reason. Small children do it a lot.

Amygdala
The amygdala (Latin, corpus amygdaloideum) is an almond-shape set of neurons located deep in the brain's medial temporal lobe.

Shown to play a key role in the processsing of emotions, the amygdala forms part of the limbic system.

In humans and other animals, this subcortical brain structure is linked to both fear responses and pleasure.

Its size is positively correlated with aggressive behavior across species.

In humans, it is the most sexually-dimorphic brain structure, and shrinks by more than 30% in males upon castration.

Conditions such as anxiety, autism, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and phobias are suspected of being linked to abnormal functioning of the amygdala, owing to damage, developmental problems, or neurotransmitter imbalance.
https://www.sciencedaily.com/terms/amygdala.htm

Frankly, I'm not sure I understand the reference I've just located on google, but they do suggest some connection between amygdala and jaw.
Electrical stimulation of the amygdala also elicits jaw movements and activation of facial motoneurons, which probably mediate some of the facial expressions seen during the fear reaction. These motor effects may be indicative of a more general effect of amygdala stimulation, namely that of modulating brainstem reflexes such as the massenteric, baroreceptor nictitating membrane, eyeblink and the startle reflex.

Amygdala connections with jaw, tongue and laryngo-pharyngeal premotor neurons.

Abstract
As the central nucleus (CE) is the only amygdaloid nucleus to send axons to the pons and medulla, it is thought to be involved in the expression of conditioned responses by accessing hindbrain circuitry generating stereotypic responses to aversive stimuli. Responses to aversive oral stimuli include gaping and tongue protrusion generated by central pattern generators and other premotor neurons in the ponto-medullary reticular formation. We investigated central nucleus connections with the reticular formation by identifying premotor reticular formation neurons through the retrograde trans-synaptic transport of pseudorabies virus (PRV) inoculated into masseter, genioglossus, thyroarytenoid or inferior constrictor muscles in combination with anterograde labeling of CE axons with biotinylated dextran amine. Three dimensional mapping of PRV infected premotor neurons revealed specific clusters of these neurons associated with different oro-laryngo-pharyngeal muscles, particularly in the parvicellular reticular formation. CE axon terminals were concentrated in certain parvicellular clusters but overall putative contacts were identified with premotor neurons associated with all four oro-laryngo-pharyngeal muscles investigated. We also mapped the retrograde trans-synaptic spread of PRV through the various nuclei of the amygdaloid complex. Medial CE was the first amygdala structure infected (4 days post-inoculation) with trans-synaptic spread to the lateral CE and the caudomedial parvicellular basolateral nucleus by day 5 post-inoculation. Infected neurons were only very rarely found in the lateral capsular CE and the lateral nucleus and then at only the latest time points. The data demonstrate that the CE is directly connected with clusters of reticular premotor neurons that may represent complex pattern generators and/or switching elements for the generation of stereotypic oral and laryngo-pharyngeal movements during aversive oral stimulation. Serial connections through the amygdaloid complex linked with the oro-laryngo-pharyngeal musculature appear quite distinct from those believed to sub-serve fear responses, suggesting there are distinct "channels" for the acquisition and expression of particular conditioned behaviors.

Russia will probably invade some NATO allies if Trump is President, assuming that he'll do nothing about it.

Trump will eventually react after being pressured, but not in a well-thought manner.

For example:

"Most Americans should choose Trump because men have been leading for millions of year. You can't take the risk of having one of the richest, most powerful countries led by a woman president," he said.

Oh, and this hilarious case of mistaken identity:
"She craves power. Her view is that Hillary is the most important person on the planet..."

If the Russians think Trump won't back stab them the very minute he gets into office, they've got another thing coming. The man is disloyalty personified.

A Trump administration (whither the thought) would moreover be stacked with all the usual PNAC/neocon suspects - just as ANY Rethug administration would be in modern times.

If Moscow doesn't get that, they might as well give it all up by now.

Just so you could appreciate what kind of person Zhirinovsky is. I remember when he came to power in the 90s, trying to reconstruct the glory of the Soviet Union.
A part of his platform included setting up huge fans on the border with the Baltic States (Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia ) and blowing radioactive Dustin their direction to bring them back into the fold.

I moved to the US shortly after and I remember thinking that next to these guys Democrats and Republicans are virtually the same. How wrong I was...

What a novel idea...

On another note I think all this hacking of emails and of servers is probing our defenses..We do it to them and they do it to us.. They KNOW what we can do (ie stuxnet). Putin is afraid.
Our problem is we are more "connected" then them.. They are basic but alot of it...More tanks, more planes more bodies.. Like his beloved WW2 heroes. Overwhelm them with numbers. Shit I still think they are using tubes instead of transistors in their aircraft...
