In reversal, Sen. Fischer renews support for Trump

Source: Politico

Nebraska Sen. Deb Fischer on Tuesday reversed her call for Donald Trump to resign from the GOP ticket, telling a local radio station that it's "not a tough choice" to back him just three days after she urged him to quit.

"I plan to vote for Mr. Trump and Mr. Pence on November 8," she said on Nebraska's KLIN. "I put out a statement ... with regard to Mr. Trump's comments. I felt they were disgusting. I felt they were unacceptable and I never said I was not voting for our Republican ticket."

What Fischer had actually said was that "It would be wise for [Trump] to step aside and allow Mike Pence to serve as our party's nominee."
She said in the radio interview that she would no longer advocate that position because Trump had already made up his mind. (In fact, Trump tweeted barely an hour after Fischer's call, that he would "never" quit the race.)

tldr version: "Wha? Oh, damn, you mean we're stuck with him? Let's forget I said that then, ok? It's just a little sexual assault. I hear that's all the rage in locker rooms these days."

Republican ethics on parade.

I'm a bit ashamed to admit, I only follow the national level politics there.

Thank you, Cha! It's really good to see you about here again!

Most republican voters have short term memories. She wants to keep those Cheeto voters. Smart politics for Nebraska. Her opponent when she faces re- election needs to point this out. Ha ha

drumpf has stirred up the repuke party big-time

Those blithering idiots are falling all over themselves to endorse... no, not endorse... and back to endorse drumpf

They don't know which end is up.

We knew there had to be a "Day of Reckoning"-- the time when past mistakes or misdeeds must be punished or paid for-- and, apparently, this is it

I want you to know I was in no way digging at local Dems in Nebraska when I posted this! That was miles away from my intent.

I know how things change, and I understand how much hard work it takes at a grassroots level to being things back around.

Keep working and you will see change in the future!

It is interesting to observe just how far from the mainstream the majority of the other party is now. If you took some of the policies of their Saint Reagan without telling them they were his, they would claim the person was a communist. At least I know that in the end, progressive and positive change always comes from liberals.

Peace!
