Harry Reid mocks Trump tax leaks: ‘Racist incompetent failure managed to lose a billion dollars’
Source: RawStory
Outgoing Senate Minority leader Harry Reid had a few things to say on Sunday about reports that GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump lost $915 million dollars in 1995. None of them were nice.
The Nevada Democrat, who is winding down his career in the Senate, issued a statement on Sunday that will likely get under the skin of the supposed billionaire who saw the New York Times expose a very bad year in the form of income tax documents that indicate hes not a very good businessman.
According to Reids statement: Trump is a billion-dollar loser who wont release his taxes because theyll expose him as a spoiled, rich brat who lost the millions he inherited from his father. Despite losing a billion dollars, Trump wants to reward himself with more tax breaks on inherited wealth while stiffing middle-class families who earn their paychecks with hard work.
Trump is over-leveraged and deeply indebted to someone, but until he releases his taxes we wont know who, the statement continues. Lets step back and take stock: Senate Republicans have put party so far ahead of country, theyve endorsed a racist, incompetent failure who managed to lose a billion dollars in a boom year. Now they are helping Trump hide his tax returns and preventing the American people from knowing what individuals, businesses or foreign interests could have leverage over Trump.

(1,816 posts)That he will change the tax code?
Why would he when he and his friends benefit from it?
He has declared bankruptcy how many times?
How many vendors has he cheated?
I pay my taxes, why doesn't he?
Are people really that stupid?

His statement here is the absolute crux of the problem
That's the Republicans, though, everything done in secret, dirty little deals
to help themselves and some bones thrown out in public to placate and confuse
the people affected by their subterfuge

(7,403 posts)What the NYT exposed was from a single Trump enterprise bankruptcy and it is a whopping $916 Billion. How big is the tax break for his other 3 bankruptcies? They could easily add up to another $300 million and if that is the case the number of years Trump paid no federal income taxes would almost certainly be over 20 years. This is just the tip of the iceberg regarding Trump's taxes so stay tuned.
