No one has gotten more credit (or blame) for the recent turnaround at the Trump campaign than Kellyanne Conway, the always-on-TV Republican pollster who was promoted last month to campaign manager.

It’s a meme that’s only likely to grow if, as many predict, Trump uses Monday’s presidential debate stage to debut a newly chivalrous persona — but some insiders question how much influence Conway actually has over the candidate.
Interviews this week with more than half a dozen GOP sources close to the campaign suggest her “Trump-whisperer” status is more made-for-TV myth than reality.

“She’s there to go on MSNBC or Fox, or whatever. That’s sort of her job. They think she’s good on TV, and they like having her there as the face of the campaign,” said one source with knowledge of the strategy.

“The narrative that Kellyanne is a woman genius and saving Trump helps him as he runs against a woman … Kellyanne spends nearly 100% of her time on TV. That’s her role,” said another Republican who is close to Conway.

I find her to be fake (as a lot of political operatives are of course) but also harsh, which runs counter to the medias gushing how "sweet" she is - this is just the usual kiss as republican bullshit.

THAT SAID, I think up until HRC got into his mush head and set him off, Conway has in fact done the best job of managing the idiot. The time from when she came on board until now as absolutely the best his campaign has been in keeping him muzzled and from pouring gas on himself and lighting it.

SO, while I don't like her and revolt against the medias kiss ass of her, I think she had the best run with Trump that anyone has had.

That said, she was running around all day Monday bragging him up because they were as Republicans tend to be, cocky. And, her big line was that Trump was the "Babe Ruth of Debates" because "he just swung and when he connected hit long shots."

Had any democrat done that, no doubt, NONE, that he or she would have seen that clip 1,000 times over the last 36 hours with the media jumping all over his or her head.
