Mike Pence Says His Role Model for Vice President Is Dick Cheney

Source: ABC News

GOP vice presidential candidate Mike Pence said his role model for the number two spot is the last Republican to hold the job -- Dick Cheney.

“I frankly hold Dick Cheney in really high regard in his role as vice president and as an American,” Pence said on ABC’s "This Week."

Pence said that, like Cheney, he hoped to be “a very active vice president.”

“Vice President Cheney had experience in Congress as I do, and he was very active in working with members of the House and the Senate,” he said.

I'm sure it was the main reason Pence said yes. The thought of being another Cheney, where he could be the real power behind a lazy-ass clown king. While Trump just flies around the world using Air Force One to close business deals and go to lavish parties in Russia.

For one, why would anyone vote for someone who basically admits that he is incompetent for the job and that its ok, because he will hand over important decisions to someone else?

Two, me thinks Pence is in for a yuuuuuuge surprise if the worst happens and Trump is elected. His already bad decision making based on his Bible, will be made even worse because his boss will no doubt swoop in, in spite of his hands off promises behind the scenes, and override any decision Pence may make and make things even more chaotic. Trump is no Dubya. At least Dubya understood that he was simply a figurehead and knew his role in simply memorizing speeches (as best he could) and making a serious face (again as best he could) while talking about the end of the world as we know it unless.....Trump thinks he will be the greatest President of all time..he's just scared and lazy and wants someone to hold his hand at first. I would predict that he would soon get over the butterflies and Pence would soon find out how little he is thought of and how little input he will have.

When I was growing up, we were taught that the U.S. were the Good Guys protecting the world from countries that invaded sovereign countries that hadn't attacked them, and tortured their prisoners in secret "extrajudicial" prisons . Cheney made us that kind of country instead. If there is a God and a Hell, Cheney is in deep shit.

Vice President Cheney, while evil, is exceedingly intelligent. He had decades of experience in the US Government and understood the levers of power and knew all of the power players.

Governor Pence, like his running mate, is an ignorant idiot.

So, like Dick Cheney, he realizes he'd constitute the real moving parts behind a phony façade of a president?

Plus, he'd find some pretext to invade a country rich in raw materials that he think would offer up little to no resistance?

Not that I'm surprised, mind you. Just a little depressed that Pence is living down to my expectations. At least we knew Cheney was the brains behind the GW Bush administration, evil as he was. With Pence, we'd have someone with just as much (make that little) of a clue as the figurehead president about how to do the job.

Very reassuring of Pence. I certainly wasn't voting for Trump to begin with, but this really frightens me. Since the Donald plans on focusing on making America great again; leaving the rest to Pence, I hope the Trump followers know who they'll really be electing. Then, again, if they're Trump voters to begin with...not much deep thinking going on.
