Rudy Giuliani said today, “Under those 8 years before Obama came along, we didn’t have any successful radical Islamic terrorist attacks in the United States. They all started when Clinton and Obama got into office.”

Rudy. Giuliani.

That Rudy Giuliani.

Now, Giuliani did mention the authorization of the Patriot Act, so it’s possible he may have been referring to from then to the end of the Bush presidency. Still, that’s a pretty odd statement to make.

A good example of how well the Air Defense Network worked toward the end of the Clinton years is the well-known case of golfer Payne Stewart's Lear jet.

When Stewart's jet failed to respond to air traffic controller communications on October 25, 1999, F-16 interceptors arrived on site within 20 minutes after contact with his plane was lost.

Had the Air Defense Network been similarly utilized on 9/11, the tragedy would have never happened.

I'll leave it to your imagination to determine why it was brazenly - and treasonously - allowed to take place. After all, 9/11 only gave them everything the Bush Cheney neocon regime wanted. Their "new Pearl Harbor" as they themselves so eloquently put it.

Payne Stewart's plane was intercepted 80 minutes after contact was lost. The F-16 was not an armed interceptor but a USAF F-16 test pilot from the 40th Flight Test Squadron on a routine flight in the area that was asked to check Stewart's plane out.

There is no evidence what so ever that the US Air Force routinely intercepted planes over the continental US with armed interceptors. At the time there were exactly seven bases, all on the coast, with a total of 14 armed interceptors on alert for immediate launch. They were used exclusively to intercept and ID planes approaching the US from international airspace.

So that's actually 14 minutes from the moment the ARTCC determined that Stewart was incomunicado.
