This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by In_The_Wind (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: National Law Journal

A federal judge in Washington issued an order on Wednesday that left open the possibility that Hillary Clinton could be subpoenaed to testify about her use of a private email server as secretary of State.

If there was a policy against using a private email server why didn't someone bring it up at some point?
Why didn't the FBI say she couldn't do it? Why didn't the CIA? Why didn't Obama or Biden? Why didn't her husband? Why didn't SOMEONE say a word about it? Why didn't the Republicans jump up and down and sh** marbles when Powell and Rice used a private email server?

We know why. There is no policy against it. It's the only thing Republicans in office do well. Lie and spend tax money on garbage, when they are doing anything at all.

people did either. Please start here -- http://thompsontimeline.com/The_Clinton_Email_Scandal_Timeline

for a better understanding of the problem. So far you are confusing "email account" with "computer server", which may explain why you aren't understanding why there is a problem.

In a nutshell, she was supposed to use a ".gov" email, which would live on government servers, and those emails (known as work product) belong to the American people/we have access to them under FOIA. She did her own "Hillary.com" (fake name for easy explanation) which mean the emails lived on HER server in her basement, and no one in the public had access to them. She did not tell people she did this (so no one in government IT made sure they were "safe" from hackers or backed them up onto government records systems), didn't turn them in when she left office, and then deleted half the emails when she did turn them in (which looks suspicious).

Legal consequences are currently 38 civil lawsuits for avoiding FOIA (two of which are far enough along in the process that she will end up being deposed under oath) and a year long criminal investigation by the FBI that is not looking good for her on multiple levels (especially since it appears the Clinton Foundation was paying Blumenthal to spy on the NSA and CIA for her).

Hope this helps!

hacked by "Guccifer" and the Hillary emails were discovered and were found to originate from a server in her basement. Her husband and close associates were probably behind the idea to keep her communications out of reach of FOIA in case she ran for president again.

that he deleted everything on. But again that one was on U.S. Government property. All those machines were on their side of the the governments .GOV firewall. The same can not be said about HRC's server in the .COM domain. If she had placed it in a room in the office building not much would have probably been said. But she didn't.

She's giving a sworn deposition on a matter the FBI is publicly investigating. Do you really think the feebs are just going to pretend that she hasn't given a deposition. This is most certainly subject to discovery by the FBI; and Judicial Watch will probably be emailing a copy of what they find to them within 3 seconds of the conclusion of the meeting.

The fact that there is an ongoing investigation is all she needs to take the 5th in front of a partisan witch hunt lead by a biased group of lawyers.

What was questioned was that when she returned to work, she soon was working for the State Department part time, the Clinton Foundation, a private Clinton allied company and for HRC personally. Could a new mom adding to what was already a very tough job have been because her husband resigned his seat? I did not look up the timining.

There are enormous potential conflict of interest problems.
