Obama campaign omits key facts on Romney's Massachusetts record
Source: Los Angeles Times
As President Obamas reelection campaign opened a new offensive Thursday against Mitt Romneys record as governor of Massachusetts, it took key facts out of context, leaving a distorted picture of how Romney handled taxes, spending and debt.
The attack came mainly from David Axelrod, the presidents chief campaign strategist, and Deval Patrick, Romneys Democratic successor as governor of Massachusetts. Both criticized Romneys fiscal record in national television appearances.

Patrick, who succeeded Romney in January 2007, told CNN that Romney left office with a $1.1-billion deficit, an allegation repeated by Axelrod.

This was article four on the Google News website. My problem with the media is, Romney is never corrected on his attacks in any substantive way,
but this "inaccuracy" is supposedly a major Google news story. Palease!

(7,404 posts)Also, the fact checkers often use bias in their analysis so there is the problem of who checks the fact checkers. An example of the double standard is Romney's claim that he added more jobs as Governor of Massachusettes than Obama has as President of the United States or that Massachusettes went from 36th to 47th in job creation under Romney and this is treated as a non-story.
