Mr. Sanders, meanwhile, had a 3-point edge over Mrs. Clinton, 49 percent to 46 percent, which included a 62 percent to 35 percent advantage among first-time caucus-goers.
Mrs. Clinton, meanwhile, had an 11-point, 52 percent to 41 percent, edge among voters who have participated in previous caucuses.
The size of the turnout tonight will likely be the key factor, especially on the Democratic side, said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. High turnouts with lots of new caucus participants likely would mean a good night for Sen. Bernie Sanders, and for Donald Trump

(10,279 posts)That is a surprise. It doesn't have a pony in this race.

(62,411 posts)The democratic totals will be out tonight and should be pretty accurate.
And as an Iowan that seemed to be kind of an insult to us.
We are mostly very good people who work hard and do care.
I will be in charge of our local caucus - totally amateur but I do really care about accurate counts and getting info in in time.
ETA - I spent a portion of my working life flying between Iowa and NC - you have some very good folks down your way.

(5,668 posts)50/50 chance depends on how long Bernie can hold it up. I don't think he quite intended to be president . But then again neither did Trump hopefully not. The better ones don't go into this race intended to win. Usually it's the big wigs of late that win. Except Hillary and Donald both have extremely high negative numbers. figure we'll leave at 6pm because I dislike the parking. used to go to UNI , they moved it to a Gym this year. Guess our pricinct got so big it needs to be in a Gym now. Very tense though with all the mud thats been mostly thrown in Bernie's direction. like yes I do have panic attacks and I have meds for it. Fortunately I'm on meds at the time the caucus is on should be interesting. Although after 6 years of bruising attacks from the Right. I'm a bit battered. er well in thery 5 yrs but election years go poof. Howard Dean went in thinking to win and it ended up with who , and he lost . lets hope thats not the case this year. (shoulda been Howard dean he woulda won)

(62,411 posts)and they run their caucus entirely different than we do.
BTW - when Bernie entered the race, he entered to win.

(4,211 posts)I'm sure we could point to dozens of actions you've taken that support someone in the GOP using your same yard-stick. All it would take would be for you to use any form of media.
There's a link there straight to the Quinnipiac poll for people, such as yourself, who would rather not risk soiling their eyes with something that, as you put it, might "support the GOP and Unification Church".

(45,481 posts)I doubt it.

(4,211 posts)Do you have cookies enabled? If you do, you're supporting all kinds of advertisers by providing demographic and behavioral information... same for if you have flash or java. Ever use Google? How about Yahoo, AOL or MSN? There's really not much you can do in this day and age to avoid benefiting someone with a contrary ideology and be online.
It's more a matter of picking what we're willing to tolerate, and what we're not. If you're really worried about ads, you can use one of dozens of ad-blockers, just like I do, to avoid inadvertently giving an extra 12 cents to those you loathe. In fact, I highly recommend everyone get an ad blocker.

(5,668 posts)say Megyn those numbers aren't right check the guys, they'll show Mitt won smh Right wing sources would show hillary winning because thats who she caters too and I know some and they are all for Hillary and watch Faux too smh

(4,211 posts)I know it's tantamount to heresy to say as much, but I'm more interested in the truth of what's being reported versus who's reporting it.
I'll be more critical of faux noise, but if I can verify their claim, well then, credit where credit is due.
That's my policy anyway.
And since I use ad-blocker's they aren't going to benefit from my traffic to their site.
I call that a win.
