MOBILE, AL (WALA) -
Mobile Police have confirmed four people were shot outside a popular West Mobile movie theater late on Christmas night. They are two adults and two juveniles, according to authorities.
One person, with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle before police arrived. Three others, with injuries said to not be life threatening, were subsequently transported to an area hospital for treatment, police said.
Possibly two shooting suspects fled on foot, and there have been no reported arrests at this hour. It happened around 10:15 p.m. at Carmike's Wynnsong Cinemas, at 785 Schillinger Road South, police said.
Police said the victims include two 14-year-old juveniles and one 18-year-old, as well as a second adult. Three of the victims are male, and one is female, police said.

(675 posts)This is getting ridiculous, I was hoping our President would come out with an executive order on gun control before the holidays, something needs to be done soon.

(675 posts)He could put a huge tax on ammunition combined with the federal government buying large quantities to make bullets expensive and scarce. He could make background checks a long expensive process in effect making it hard to even acquire a firearm. These are just a couple of examples he could come up with to start to limit the supply of firearms and ammunition.

(39,171 posts)only Congress has the power to tax. EOs are limited to the Executive branch powers. And he cannot overturn any existing laws which means he cannot make background checks long and expensive- background checks are are governed by existing statutes.

(23,097 posts)It's called intimidation. Name me one time the guards protected someone from a shooter and no one else was injured, other than the shooter? I've not heard of that, but could have missed something?

(16,113 posts)Though in all fairness, a security guard was shot (and survived). I don't think that makes your point, though, since the perpetrators shot first.
