Carly Fiorina's campaign has raised $6.8 million in the past three months, according to the Republican presidential candidate's deputy campaign manager. It's a significant jump for the former Hewlett-Packard executive, particularly after a slower start in the last quarter, in which her campaign raised $1.4 million total.
According to a tweet from Sarah Isgur Flores, Fiorina's official campaign spent only $2.2 million between July 1 and Sept. 30, a function of the super PAC supporting her setting up events and signing up supporters, tasks that traditionally have been the domain of the campaigns themselves. Fiorina has $5.5 million in cash on hand. The total fundraising numbers for all candidates will be available when the Federal Elections Commission releases its data on Thursday.

(16,926 posts)Fiorina will hold a brief town hall with Melaleuca employees in Idaho Falls on Wednesday.
The health products company is owned by CEO Frank VanderSloot, who is a GOP mega-donor. VanderSloot has previously listed Fiorina as one the presidential candidates he is favoring.
GOP candidates have been eager to secure VanderSloot's backing because of his successful fundraising reputation.
