Presidential hopeful Sanders wins warm 'Late Show' welcome

Source: AP

By FRAZIER MOORE

NEW YORK (AP) — Bernie Sanders brought a "Feel the Bern" coffee cup for Stephen Colbert along with his message of lifting the middle class, and in return received a rock star's welcome from the studio audience as a guest on CBS' "The Late Show" Friday.

The Vermont senator and Democratic presidential hopeful also brought along statistics to support his cause.

"It is a moral outrage that the top one-tenth of 1 percent today owns almost as much wealth as the bottom 90 percent; that 58 percent of all new income is going to the top 1 percent," he said.

To that, as with nearly everything he said, the audience cheered.

What was great is that Stephen asked the tough questions, and Bernie answered effectively.

here is a statement and a list about the 10 happiest countries in the world, per The World Happiness Report, via a CNN travel article. I assume the list is ordered happiest nation first.

People who live in the happiest countries have longer life expectancies and more social support, experience more generosity, have more freedom to make life choices, have lower perceptions of corruption and have a higher gross domestic product per capita, the report shows.

I rest my case, especially given that absence of sunlight causes SAD (seasonal affective disorder--basically, depression) and several of these nations have sunlight "outtages."

You are not to be awarded a shitload. Your post "nailed it" a shitload. A shitload is a specific volume measurement, so to speak.

Bernie's message never fails to bring cheers (except for the majority of Republicans)! Thanks for posting this, Omaha Steve. I may watch it again just for the fun of it, but it's a must see for those who missed it.

I would have preferred if Sanders said Yes or No or that he's not ready to release the specifics of his tax plan.

If you have a solid defense there, you don't need rates that are as high.
