Police Cruiser Hit By Gunfire, Crashes, Catches Fire

AP 9:26 p.m. EDT September 2, 2015

MILLIS, Mass. (AP) — A suburban Boston police cruiser has been hit by gunfire, crashed and caught on fire.

Police officers from several towns are looking for the man who shot at the Millis police car.

State police spokesman David Procopio says the cruiser crashed into a tree and caught fire Wednesday. The officer inside wasn't seriously hurt.

Police believe the shots were fired from a dark-colored pickup truck.
