Hillary Clinton sways the doubters at Wing Ding

She attacked her speech with a vigor Iowans — and even skeptical liberals — said they’d never seen from her before.

By Rachael Bade

8/15/15 12:56 AM EDT

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa — The verdict from the jam-packed auditorium was nearly unanimous: Hillary Clinton crushed her speech at Iowa’s now-famous Democratic Wing Ding Friday night, winning standing ovations from the very Iowans who turned against her the last time she ran for the White House.

Clinton, who suffered a crushing blow when she came in third during the 2008 Iowa caucuses, attacked her speech with a vigor Iowans — and even skeptical liberals — said they’d never seen from her before. Speaking with a booming voice, she opened with a full-throated defense of President Barack Obama’s Iran deal, before offering a stark warning of her own to Tehran: “We will never let you acquire a nuclear weapon. Not just in the terms of this agreement. Never.”

She talked about helping college students drowning in their school debt, nodded to the “Black lives matter” movement, and blasted the right for their latest attempts to defund Planned Parenthood — all while taunting the GOP for their fixation on Benghazi and her email scandal.

“Republicans want to stack the deck even more for those at the top — you saw this in the Republican debate the other night,” she said, her voice building as the crowd cheered: “Seventeen candidates and not one of them said a single word about how to address the rising costs of college… about equal pay for woman. Or quality preschool for our kids… No solution solution to sky rocketing prescription drug costs. No commitment to end mass incarceration, or to say loudly and clearly: ‘Yes, Black lives matter!’”

The crowd went wild, and even some of her critics warmed to her.

“I saw her eight years ago a couple times, and she certainly has improved her fire,” said Ray Brost of Clarksville, Iowa, who was wearing a Bernie Sanders sticker. When asked if Clinton won him over tonight from supporting the far-left Vermont Senator, he hesitated: “Boy it’s a hard choice. We saw a lot of real talent tonight. Smart people.”

Twitter is loaded with how feisty and fiery Hillary's speech was--as Politico acknowledges (and I think we can agree that Politico has and does not favor Democrats-especially Hillary).

Hillary Clinton Draws Energetic Crowd at Iowa Dinner

http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/hillary-clinton-draws-energetic-crowd-iowa-dinner-n410316

Clear Lake, Iowa — Even as she loses some of her edge in the polls, Iowa Democrats are still ready for Hillary.

Democrats in the first-in-the-nation caucus state gave former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton a raucous reception at the Iowa Democratic Wing Ding on Friday night, repeatedly interrupting her with cries of "Hillary! Hillary! Hillary!"

The crowd hollered themselves hoarse during Clinton's speech, signaling that while rival presidential contender Bernie Sanders may be rising in the polls against her, the Vermont senator is still their second choice.

Clinton pitched herself as a Democratic champion ready to take on the GOP and, as if to prove her point, spent much of her speech slamming her Republican opponents. ..........

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – Even as she loses some of her edge in the polls, Iowa Democrats are still ready for Hillary.

Democrats in the first-in-the-nation caucus state gave former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton a raucous reception at the Iowa Democratic Wing Ding on Friday night, repeatedly interrupting her with cries of “Hillary! Hillary! Hillary!”..............

.....Outside of the event, most attendees said they were going in with an open mind, but many said they were excited to see Clinton most.

“She’s the most qualified candidate we’ve had other than a sitting president, why would we not give her our full support?” West Des Moines resident Claire Celsi told msnbc while waiting in line to enter the event.

“Sorry Bern boy. Don’t get me wrong, I love Senator Sanders –” she said, before her friend Tim LaPointe interjected, “but she’s the Eleanor Roosevelt of our time.”

"Everyday Americans" Hillary And Bill Clinton Report $140 Million In Taxable Income Since 2007

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-08-03/everyday-americans-hillary-and-bill-clinton-report-140-million-income-2007

Ever since Mitt Romney's tax disclosure fiasco in which allegations of tax avoidance and usage of offshore tax shelters played a major part in the democrat counter campaign, there has been great interest in the Adjusted Gross Income reported by presidential candidates. Which is why to avoid any surprises on the primary circuit, Hillary Clinton released the full data of her and Bill's tax income going back to 2007.

So without further ado, here is the Clinton family's adjusted gross income since 2007. The summary: $139.1 million in income since 2007, most of it thanks to speeches starting at $225,000 and going much higher.

And that is your "everyday Americans."

Seems like it hurt you to see HRC's speech and the standing ovations she got.

By the way, it was refreshing to see that you choose your candidate by not what their record is, what their experience is, what their work entails, what their policies are but by someone who makes less money. Bravo!!

However, you are cherry picking the numbers. They earned the money -- so what? If people are willing to pay to hear them speak, more power to them.

What is more important is what they did with the money. They donated almost all of it to their foundation which does charity work in fighting HIV, Malaria, TB and malnutrition around the world. It is not like they bought fur coats, jewelry and lamborghinis with the money.

Again, I repeat, you are being disingenuous.
