Hillary’s First Campaign Stop? Pa.

Source: Philadelphia Magazine

It was no surprise that Hillary Clinton declared her candidacy for president on Sunday. The unexpected part? She started her campaign with a road trip and ended up in Pennsylvania.

Chris Learn, a 19-year-old student at Penn State Altoona, told CNN that he ran into Clinton at a Pilot gas station. He said she greeted him and asked him questions. He also said she was traveling with a group of people in a small caravan.

"I knew it was her immediately," Learn said. "I just saw her and I was like, there's no way that's her!"

He added: "She didn't really say why she was there, but I was guessing it was for presidential stuff."

These people must be actors. I've been told that only paid actors and operatives have anything to do with Hillary. The baby is probably a doll.

I read it at Democratic Underground.

When my family was young we went off across the country in our caravan. What wonderful memories.

Clinton is starting her campaign well. This will resonate with many people.

I can't vote for her but I am rooting for her.

Up here my friends and love Obama and we all will be rooting for Hilary.

You could vote for Ted Cruz - ain't he Canadian!

Or you could just take him back.

And while you're at it could you take back Justin Bieber and Nickelback?

We'll keep Rush!

This is great! I think Hill is gonna run a good campaign.

She has run with/against two of the best. (Clinton/Obama)
She has already stood tall and batted away the kitchen sink, the bathroom sink, utility sink, and everything else the Republicans have thrown at her for the past 20 years.
She is charming and witty.

This has the potential to be a lot of fun.

Hillary's father Hugh came from Scranton. The Rodhams still own the family cabin by a lake and both of her parents are buried in PA. The family has deep ties to the state.

15. Maureen Dowd on the "new Hillary":
Mon Apr 13, 2015, 01:21 PM
Apr 2015
Now, after 25 years on the national stage, Hillary is still hitting the reset button on her image, this time projecting herself as a warm, loving grandmother.

On the eve of her campaign launch, she released an updated epilogue to her banal second memoir, “Hard Choices,” highlighting her role as a grandmother.

“I’m more convinced than ever that our future in the 21st century depends on our ability to ensure that a child born in the hills of Appalachia or the Mississippi Delta or the Rio Grande Valley grows up with the same shot at success that Charlotte will,” she wrote, referring to her granddaughter.

This was designed to rebut critics who say she’s too close to Wall Street and too grabby with speech money and foundation donations from Arab autocrats to wage a sincere fight against income inequality.

But if Hillary really wants to help those children, maybe she should give them some of the ostensible and obscene $2.5 billion that she is planning to spend to persuade us to make her grandmother of our country.

Whenever she writes about the Clintons, which used to be almost every other column, she distills vitriol. Then again, her poison pen has also been directed at Obama, Gore, Kerry and others.

BTW Maureen, do you think that Democrats should spend less than Republicans and be rolled over by their billionaire run PACs?

Also, I thought a USA president represents all of it's people and can distinguish between foe or not but have the enough respect for him/herself to know the different at the same keeping what is important for the USA and majority of it's people.

Something the GOP/Libertarians refuse to do.

So what if she took pictures with persons from another party, same with Bill.

24. Interesting they chose a Pilot Travel Center
Tue Apr 14, 2015, 07:51 AM
Apr 2015

BTW, there are 20 Pilot Travel Centers branded by that name, and 10 others that accept their fuel but use the Flying J, Road Ranger, or other names on her assumed trip to her Iowa campaign stop. All one has to do is map from their website travel plans.

Fun Fact, the Haslam family out of Knoxville run the operation, and are definitely not liberal. They are related to the current governor of Tennessee. However, if you have to stop and must avoid conservative companies, you wouldn't get very far on the road. That is just reality.
