Iran's Khamenei Demands All Sanctions End When Nuclear Deal Signed

(Reuters) - Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Thursday demanded that all sanctions on Iran be lifted at the same time as any final agreement with world powers on curbing Tehran's nuclear program is concluded.

Khamenei, the Islamic Republic's most powerful figure and who has the last say on all state matters, was making his first comments on the interim deal reached last week in the Swiss city of Lausanne.

He repeated his faith in President Hassan Rouhani's negotiating team. But in remarks apparently meant to keep hardline loyalists on side, he warned about the "devilish" intentions of the United States.

"I neither support nor oppose the deal. Everything is in the details, it may be that the deceptive other side wants to restrict us in the details," Khamenei said in a speech broadcast live on state television.

The largest objection with Repukes is not the nuke deal, its the fear of all that oil being released onto the market and driving the prices down where they should be in the first place

Maybe they don't want to play this silly game of incremental ism with the west distrusting them when they haven't broken any rules. Maybe the great nation of Iran has had enough of America trying to ruin them. At some point tone has to take a stand and let them do their worst.

I will take the same stance if I was Iran, just negotiate with Russia and China and forget the west and their disrespect of any country in the region not Israel or Sunni wahhabi country

4. I read they're projecting up to a $15 a barrel drop after Iran's oil is on the open market.

That's a significant drop if it holds true.

So many of them have to do with trade, banking, oil and, at their worst, holding back medical technology and supplies.

Rohani Says Sanctions Must Be Lifted On Day Nuclear Deal Is Implemented
RFE
Thursday 9th April, 2015

Iranian President Hassan Rohani says Tehran wants international sanctions lifted on the day that a final deal curbing its nuclear program is implemented.

"We will not sign any agreements unless on the first day of the implementation of the deal all economic sanctions are totally lifted on the same day," Rouhani said during a ceremony on April 9 marking National Nuclear Technology Day.

<snip>

Insistence on the immediate removal of all sanctions would badly harm the chances for an agreement, because other countries in the talks say removal of sanctions would be contingent on steps by Iran to ease concerns it could develop nuclear weapons.

The United States has made it clear that sanctions would have to be phased out gradually.

Read about the Iranian-Saudi standoff going on right now over the Bab-el-Mandeb strait near Yemen. I think the true regional ME war is about to blow. The Egyptian navy has supposedly fired shots at the Iranians and Saudi Arabia has closed off Mecca to Iranians.
