Bystander’s video shows cops shooting, killing fleeing man **WARNING**
Source: Ars Technica
Washington state police are investigating a video uploaded to YouTube that captures the death of a man shot repeatedly by police.
The video, taken by a bystander, surfaced Wednesday, a day after the Tuesday shooting death of Antonio Zambrano-Montes, 35.
Pasco Police Department officers were called about 5pm to respond to a report that a man was throwing rocks at a crowded intersection in the town of Pasco, according to the Department Chief Bob Metzger. Two officers were hit by rocks. A Taser did not subdue the man, who had a prior police assault conviction and served six months' jail time for it.
The video, which sparked protests, shows police firing at the man then chasing him across a busy intersection and shooting him multiple more times. About a dozen shots were fired, according to the video.

That's their out.
"He turned around and I thought he was about to attack"
Grand jury says "Not Guilty"
It's a rigged system.

(6,699 posts)I think some thugs need to go behind bars for this blatant murder. I don't care what he called them, or what he maybe even did to them; he was ZERO threat when they gunned him down like a dog.

(6,068 posts)they really went to town on that poor bastard. Hopefully this will lead to more than just the usual "thorough investigation" and no laying of charges.

(41,831 posts)He no weapons right? He had just thrown stones..but the Cops just took his life.. I can't believe the taser didn't work, you hear about people all the time being tasered multiple times even to the point of killing the individual.. and yet three cops couldn't use three tasers. Sure seems like there are no fair trials, or judges involved any more and its all executing the "bad guy" by cops.
Our society is becoming "Judge Dredd" .. where in the comic or the movie, cops are judge, jury and executioner.

(10,136 posts)Most cops don't have them anyway. Of the ones that do have them, often they are the supervisors.

These murderers, on the other hand, have no respect for the law--or anyone, for that matter. They are actually much worse than Judge Dredd.

(2,065 posts)the officers never see the inside of a jail cell. I have no faith in our justice system to deal with killer cops after Kelly Thomas' murderers went free.

(2,672 posts)Why? The video proves that it was outright murder. If the video was of regular folks shooting an unarmed person, they wouldn't be free waiting for an investigation, they'd be sitting in jail waiting for the book to be thrown at them.
Another quote from article: "Police told the paper they had to fire because they were threatened."
Yeah right! They were so threatened that they shoot and followed him across the street and then shoot to kill. They were so threatened that they shoot him almost point blank. The video clearly shows that they were anything but threatened.
Fucking psychopathic pigs!

| February 13, 2015 | Updated: February 13, 2015 7:33pm
PASCO, Wash. (AP) Officers involved in the investigation of a deadly police shooting in southeastern Washington pleaded with the public on Friday to not make a tense situation any worse.
"It's a stressful time for anybody who wears a badge," said Sgt. Ken Lattin of Kennewick Police, spokesman for a group of outside police agencies investigating the shooting Tuesday in nearby Pasco of a man accused of hurling rocks at officers.
At a news conference on Friday afternoon, Lattin said members of the public have a right to express their opinions on social media and to march peacefully in the town of Pasco, an agricultural city of 68,000 people about 215 miles southeast of Seattle.
Lattin stressed repeatedly that people need to be respectful of other points of view and to each other. He also cautioned against making a decision about the death based purely on a video seen on the Internet.
