Bizarre Rethug friends on Facebook

I just find this extremely entertaining.

I have been posting facts about the health care law and about Romney on my facebook page lately. Not really a ton but a bit more than usual. I have several friends from college that I have known around 25 years who are a bit right wing to say the least. So the funny part is, I got a message from one of them saying "I really love seeing updates about the kids and. things like that but do you really think facebook is appropriate for politics?" another one told me she was tired of all the Republican bashing she saw on Facebook although she didn't mention me specifically. Now, I wasn't saying republicans suck, or republicans are traitors (something I have heard said about Dem's a time or two) but these poor thin skinned angels just cant stand hearing the truth. Its like if the Fox news bubble cracks it will make their ears bleed!!!

So I have responded to both by saying I do think its appropriate to talk about politics "because it is an election year and of all of the lies that have been said and its time people knew the VERIFYABLE truth". And to my other friend I said "yes, I hear what you are saying, I have been sick of the Dem's being bashed constantly too. At least no one is calling the Republicans traitors!"

These things used to bother me but I realize now that their reality is so fragile it is just sad and they will learn whether they want to or not at some point-or maybe they wont!!!

. . . that, as a Dem, I'm a traitor, I don't pay any taxes, and I hate America.

If I unfriend 'em, I'd probably lose about half my friend count. And I am curious about what's being spread around about us, as twisted and as untrue as it might be.

But some day, I might wind up doing a post that combines all their lies AND my rebuttal. I'm seriously tempted. Because I've had it.

3. Similar Experience

I had quite the same experience. It's YOUR page, you can say whatever you damn well please.
I had a few of my FB friends email me offline saying they held similar political views but were afraid to say anything!
The way I see it, these RW's live in their bubble and don't like truth seeping in.

5. Well I did go off on him this time

I was really done with being polite. I also brought that up and said I wasnt posting it on his page or sending him e-mails telling him dems were traitors or hate america Like they haD and the joke of that was they were INCREDIBLY offended when I asked to be take off their mailing list! The only reason I dont unfriend them is because I wont give him the satisfaction of saying I am the intollerant one!
