The closure comes five days after the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel was shut down for nearly four hours on July 11 because of a bomb threat.
"We've been asked to close our side of the bridge," said Windsor police Staff Sgt. Jeff Verkoeyen.
Windsor police are working with U.S. authorities to deal with the threat, which came just after 8 p.m.
The Bridge authority called Windsor police and Detroit police. All agencies are working together.

This is the second threat to the same area border crossing... one from Detroit, one from Windsor, that is interesting.

Of course, they also make you breakfast in the morning: eggs, toast, jelly, Canadian bacon. It'll all be ready when you're waking up.
It's no problem. Hey! D'ya wanna beer? Eh?

The article says that traffic is being sent to the tunnel but there are some trucks that can't use the tunnel. Those guys need to drive about an hour north to go across the blue water bridge and then come back south again (assuming they were not headed north after crossing).
With so much anger over the building of a new bridge and the constant fighting from both sides this may be some sort of stunt. I am going to guess that some nut who is for a new bridge is trying to make a point that if something happened to either crossing we would be screwed.
