If he refuses to disclose them, he will be accused of hiding something, which of course he is, and if he does disclose them, he is going to incriminate himself as he has been lying all along about the time frame concerning his control of Bain Capital, and the set-up of his so-called 'blind trusts'.
I think the Obama campaign knows exactly what is happening, they are well aware of the time frames involved, and they are letting Mittens slowly twist in the wind, just waiting for the timing to click into place.
Mittens has been gaming the system all along, and his desperate bid to be president just might cost him more than a loss at the polls, it might cost him a loss of millions of dollars.

(33,688 posts)that Mittwit paid fundamentally no US taxes for years thanks to all of his offshore cash stashes. A guy worth hundreds of millions paying functionally zero taxes in the country where he made all his money will go down with a lot of voters like a Virginia ham at a Passover seder.
Disclose and he's screwn, keep it secret and it makes him look even more dishonest than he almost certainly is.

The Obama campaign people will use this to their great advantage.
"Mitt Rmoney paid ZERO taxes over the last ten years by hiding his money in Swiss bank accounts, and lying on his tax returns about his control of Bain Capital and blind trusts. How much did you pay in taxes in those last ten years, Mr. and Mrs. America?"
"Mitt Rmoney doesn't have to pay taxes because he sends his money to the Cayman Islands, but he wants your taxes to go up if you work for a living and earn a paycheck. Is this who you want running our country, a tax cheat?"

If Mittens has nothing to hide (or embarrass Democrats with), then.....................?

Boom!
It all blows up in his face!
Wait a minute, that's not how it's supposed to work.
He's fucked.

(10,479 posts)at the days after Obama was sworn in and The Turtle (McConnell) stated the Republican goal about making Obama a one term president, too much has happened. I look at the Republican governors turning down "Obamacare", Medicaid, refusing to pass any good laws, passing state laws that would decimate voting in this country, and they think nothing of lying to to country. They have caused the country to come to a standstill. They have done that for almost 4 years and they are not through. They are the Party of Mean and will stop at nothing to gain control of all of us. I have never seen anything like it happening in our country before. Our votes must be counted.

Mitt's campaign is turning into the "Never Do Business With A Mormon If You Aren't a Mormon Because You're Gonna Get Screwed" type of deal.

Every single penny will be audited to the hilt.
And will find monkey business, and therefore, indicted.

(2,774 posts)But it would be nice. Who would indict? Everyone would be labelled as an Obama appointee and it would just be written off as politics.
Best I can hope for is a lawsuit by the investors who thought he was either running/not running Bain and gave them money. Fraud is fraud.

(18,628 posts)The GOP/Tea Party platform is that Obama is taxing people to death.
If Romney paid very little or no taxes over the last several years, it quickly deflates that point. Romney can't very well go on the campaign trail and speak about how high taxes are strangling "job creators" when he's using the Leona Helmsley signature edition of TurboTax.

(23,973 posts)Good thought, there.
How can the so-called "Job Creators" be complaining about high taxes WHEN THEY DON'T PAY ANY??

(18,628 posts)I'm heading out for the day.
Romney is compalining how a 3% increase on nothing will somehow upset "job creators" and lead them to cut employees. I can see Pizza Hut telling customers to go elsewhere for a calzone because the CEO wants in a lower income bracket.

When the 'Little People' are taking notice, it won't matter what the media does.

(13,462 posts)That might be the one thing that could overcome the massive campaign money supporting Romney, let's hope anyway. With the media as it is, and after Citizen's United, I had started giving up on democracy in this country.

Mark my words, Mittens will not have to answer for any of this. He will counter with negative tv ads that are based on falsehoods and his super pacs will propagate other falsehoods and name calling.
