Trolley rider this morning, she's originally from Acapulco.
"They all steal, all politicians steal. But at least with the PRI we could walk out in the streets."
That's why the PAN got rebuked...
By the way, sent article to editor on this as well, hey this was a 14 hour day, from protests, to TTP and protests, and going deep into the numbers of a foreign election
Support your local media... You really won't get this from AP...no, not kidding. I keep seeing this over and over...major media wants sound bytes, not analysis. Ah tomorrow is off unless we get a fire.

(11,138 posts)I think everyone knows that already. You are going to have to go a little deeper than that to impress. There is room for more in-depth analysis on the Mexican elections to be sure, though I would argue that the reason for that is more that MSM in the US perceives a lack of interest in their audience. That's probably a good thing in a way, since the last thing anyone wants to see is Wolf Blitzer mangling everyone's name as he tries to explain to his audience what he himself couldn't understand if he had grown up in Mexico City.
Come on Nadin. If you know about ANYTHING it should be this. Give us some insight.

(24,780 posts)level in PRI years ago. He says Fox, et al were stupid. He said that PRI kept the drug cartels under control by allowing them to peacefully coexist with the govt. No doubt for a price. Then when PAN won they were stupid and went after the cartels and I guess broke all the deals. That's when the drug wars broke out.
So if someone says they voted PRI because they could at least walk the streets, it sounds credible.

(154,021 posts)I know that shoot outs got bad with the cartels after the pan took Baja.
By the way, there were good reasons I could not use her name.

(154,021 posts)Depends on house-Senate, and whether they bring the cartels to heel. Peña Nieto promised no accords or cease fire...heck, the Army/Navy will remain on some streets.
One thing they'll get done is the federal pd will expand and local police will start to go away.

(12,536 posts)chiefs. It took 12 years of their absence to finally clean and jail 'em. I can see that returning to the same old same old. Bet on it. I hope I'm wrong.

(154,021 posts)Would include all pollsters, and that data matches exit polls.
Six years ago there was fraud...this time around...there was some, like in every election every where. But I have seen graphs like that in European elections.
I expect some polling sites to be succesfully challenged, but not enough.
They should have run somebody else to be honest.
I forgot, one last piece of data. Peña Nieto was leading in all the polls anywhere from five to ten points...

(154,021 posts)Because the size of the conspiracy is in the thousands, not including the IFE, just pollsters alone.

(163,986 posts)holding up signs that said "they didn't let us vote" "we want to vote"? Or the reporter that said the official voting problems site was under continuous attack during the whole voting period AND registered thousands of complaints anyway?
There were protests tonight, too, and Anonymous is streaming a discussion that has drawn thousands of participants.
Well, I hope no one gets hurt although, that is probably naive.

(154,021 posts)But I have read the claims. Why some polling places will be thrown out. Hey, since charges are flying you know five people were arrested in Cuajimslpa for stealing a box, PRD...so we're another seven in Jalapa.
Then there are the three PRD supporters killed.
There were irregularities, but nothing to throw the election. They won't rise to OH level.
In 2006 they did.

(154,021 posts)Guess what is all over the Mexican press...unless Reforma, La Jornada and El Heraldo are not in Mexico City no less...
Long, and I mean this...LLLOOOONNNNGGG articles on all allegations, including those from the Human Rights Comision, detailing the shennanigans in the Soruana chain and Te Colonia Juan Escutía, and that is just for starters.
LOOONG articles on soy #132
Long articles on the claims made of electronic shennanigans.
I'd say, political and media maturity.
Good reads.
They are also going in detail on AMLO's charges.
But you are right, the Mexican media is not touching this, at all...whatsoever...
Yup.
