Poll: Americans overwhelmingly oppose sanctuary cities
The poll shows that President Trump has broad public support in his effort to crack down on sanctuary cities.
A survey from HarvardHarris Poll provided exclusively to The Hill found that 80 percent of voters say local authorities should have to comply with the law by reporting to federal agents the illegal immigrants they come into contact with.

The home of the brave shows a strong tendency to fear outsiders?

(11,996 posts)I know some Trump supporters, and the following are the main things they'll worry about.
A fear of losing jobs.
A fear of losing our way of life and cultural identity.
A fear of Islam in general.
A fear of losing our standard of living/big cars/cheap gas/etc in the name of fighting things like climate change.
A fear of losing their guns to 'gun grabber politicians'.
These people are primarily driven by xenophobia, fear of change, fear of personal sacrifice, and a general fear of seeing 'traditional American values' slip away.

(30,481 posts)If you poll something as "local authorities should have to comply with the law" you will almost always get an extremely high support rate. It's really wrong to put this on the American people after the actions of our elected officials over the last half century.
