Limbaugh has been a mainstay on the CBS owned station in Philadelphia for at least 20 years.
Today he was replaced by Michael Smerconish with the intro "forget the anger, reason is back".
I called the station manager to confirm that it was in fact a permanent and to congratulate him on his public service.
This is one station, but it is a major market that is replacing hate speech one
program at a time. Hannity was dropped last year.
Of course it is all about money and proof that the boycott worked.

Rush has run his course at WSYB.
After more than 20 years as a fixture on Rutland’s talk/sports radio station, Rush Limbaugh was dropped this month from the AM station’s lineup, replaced by a syndicated sports talk show.
Debbie Grembowicz, WSYB’s general manager, released a statement addressing the decision to drop the controversial conservative talk show host.
“Any business trying to remain vital must grow and change,” Grembowicz wrote in an email. “Some changes are more noticeable than others. There are many considerations with every one. This is an instance where a challenging decision needed to be made with WSYB.”
She continued that she’s aware “that not everyone is happy when something they enjoy changes.”

I remember the reports that the station is lower-power compared the the AM one (which, iirc, is 50,000 watts). There may even have been plans to increase the power of the new station, which was going through a wholesale format change.
The real question is how many listeners the blowhard will have at his new station and how many advertisers he has left. I've seen the statements from his spokesman, but it's clear that Rush's situation now is certainly not the rosy picture they make it out to be.

And FM stations generally reach less range than AM stations. In fact a 50 kW FM station couldn't reach as much area as a 50 kW AM station, and 50 kW AM stations are known to blast extremely long distances at night. (WWIQ is 38 kW.)
Then there's this local morning news host Larry Mendte who also does commentary segment. He's got a youtube channel (youtube.com/mendte) of political commentaries.

I was afraid I'd get a response like...
I would hate to see that happen in my country. That's not the point at all. 
...but as far as what you're suggesting goes, I don't think he's THAT athletic.

Edit to add that Philly is the 4th largest media market.

I will note to you that the station that dropped him which is 1210 WPHT (formerly WCAU, the original CBS affiliate and with 50,000 watts) is a huge station and the fly-by-night FM station that claims they want him, is a former religious programming station located in beautiful downtown Camden, NJ 
(pop. 77,000 vs Philly 1.5 million) and is on a frequency that is way too close to music station 106.1.
The max range of FM is maybe 40 - 50 miles (and that RW station is not a maxed one). The max range for WPHT is hundreds and hundreds of miles.
I.e., he's through and will be relegated to the lower tier of verbal vomit like Boortz (who is going off the air in January) and Cunningham who like Boortz is probably airing some smaller stations not really near Philly and like the type Rash may move to. The irony being that the bigger, 50,000 watt RW talk station in Philly - 990 WNTP, which runs Bennett, Medved, Gallagher, Prager, etc., didn't want to touch him with a 10 foot pole, probably for fear of all the massive egos on that station's syndicated line-up.
except for the local, low-powered 900 WURD (an African-American owned talk station that does manage to run Rev Al in the afternoon), there is NO progressive talk anywhere in the area. 
This is why I pay for SirusXM and will stream stations on my phone or tablet in order to hear something other than RW filth.
