Romney camp fights claims of shipping jobs overseas

Published June 24, 2012

FoxNews.com

The Obama campaign had already latched onto the narrative that Romney's Bain Capital contributed to the country's outsourcing shift, but a Washington Post story Friday on that very topic has since been employed as a bludgeon by team Obama.

After releasing a web video and hosting a conference call Friday -- highlighting the story and accusing Romney of shipping jobs overseas -- the campaign pushed out another video Sunday declaring: "America doesn't need an outsourcing pioneer in the Oval Office."

But the Romney campaign is fighting back, noting that the Washington Post's resident fact-checker challenged some of the claims in the Washington Post's own story. Plus Romney advisers claim the Post -- and the Obama campaign -- are exaggerating what Bain Capital actually did.

"No American jobs were shipped overseas in any of the Washington Post examples that were cited by the Obama campaign," Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom said on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday.

When I worked for mellon they outsourced my IT department - but they did not out source it. They got tax breaks for creating jobs - in India.

Here is how the lie worked.

The computer system was old, and when Mellon merged with my similar company, they selected to keep the old system they already owned rather than take our newer and working system, so we had to convert out clients to a malfunctioning system.

They then hired an outsourcing company to rewrite the system in India - this was labeled as new work and was considered job creation. They got a tax break for that. As they moved over the clients one by one, people in the US were laid off - because they were not needed to maintain a shrinking system. See, job creation and US layoffs do not equal outsourcing - that was new work. they got rid of old work.....
I called them on it, but I got laid off after 6 months of arguing. The president of the company just loved buzz words and did not care or maybe understand real issues (poor work, the Indian company was very cheap and did not hire the best and constant errors which eventually caused all the clients to drop them - long story. )
