On January 20, the people will UNITE and show Trump and the oligarchy that the people had enough of the oppression in the USA and around the world! We will not wait and see what the president-elect will do, instead we will send a clear message, and work together on the issues that affect the people at the local level.
#J20
NO WORK
NO SCHOOL
NO SHOPPING
We demand:
NO MASS DEPORTATIONS
NO MORE PIPELINES
NO MORE WARS
NO RACISM, MISOGYNY, ISLAMOPHOBIA, HOMOPHOBIA
NO FASCISM
What the people want is to be respected. We deserve an economy that works for all, a political system that is transparent and representative, an energy system that is sustainable for the long term, media which can be trusted to provide real and honest information, justice for oppressed communities, and united society.

I dragged my old ass to a protest the Saturday after the election. It was the first protest I engaged in since I was a elementary school kid on Moratorium Day. Trumpism is so wrong.
BTW, regarding the revolutionary rhetoric I can wait, I'll settle for a nation that respects pluralism, individual rights, the rule of law, and cares about the vulnerable.

(53,339 posts)From an email blast from the Courage Campaign. The campaign is joining a protest against Mnuchin organized by Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE).
That's why on Wednesday January 18, we're joining our friends at Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE) for a massive protest against Mnuchin and Donald Trump's other awful cabinet appointments who have ties to the investment bank Goldman Sachs. The protest will start at Goldman Sachs and end at the doorstep of Mnuchin's Santa Monica home -- earning the media attention needed to frame Mnuchin's confirmation hearings the very next day.
Here are the essential details for the protest on Wednesday January 18:
3:30 PM - GOLDMAN SACHS
Meet in front of Goldman Sachs (Fox Plaza Building), 2121 Ave of the Stars, LA 90067 (between Olympic & Pico)
(parking in Westfield Mall parking lot, it costs $3 for first 3 hours, or free with validation from Gelsons)
5:30 PM - HOME OF TREASURY SECRETARY NOMINEE STEVEN MNUCHIN
Meet at De Neve Square Park, 314 N. Beverly Glen Bl., CA 90077
Why is Mnuchin so bad? His bank falsified documents in order to rush through foreclosures on the elderly, on families, and in black, Latino, and working class communities.(1) That looks a lot like mortgage fraud -- a felony.
A memo leaked from the California Department of Justice shows just how far OneWest Bank's criminality, callousness, and greed went under Mnuchin's leadership.(2) Essentially, the bank falsified the dates on potentially thousands of foreclosure documents in order to expedite the foreclosure, depriving homeowners of critical due process rights that could have given them the opportunity to save their homes.(3) One former federal prosecutor said Mnuchins bank had a pattern of creating whatever documents that appear necessary at the time... to grease the wheels of the foreclosure machine. (4)
Mnuchin. Must. Be. Stopped. If we can make his horrible behavior enough of a liability for Senate Republicans, well be able to send him packing back to his mansion instead of Washington, D.C.
This is a fight we can win. But with Mnuchins confirmation hearings on Thursday January 19, we need to pull out all the stops to urge the U.S. Senate to oppose his nomination.
Yours in the fight,
William, along with Annie, Brenna, Caitlin, Eddie, Emma, Kelsey, Paula, Raquel, Scottie, and Tim (the Courage team)
