4 ordered held without bail in alleged hate-crime attack streamed live on Facebook

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-facebook-live-attack-charges-met-20170106-story.html

"One day after a chilling live Facebook video made headlines, four suspects appeared in a packed Cook County courtroom Friday to face hate crime charges alleging they beat and tortured a mentally disabled teen in an attack that once again put the city's ugly violence problem on display.

Dressed in street clothes, the four entered bond court amid heavy security, Cooper smirking as he walked to stand before the judge. As Assistant State's Attorney Erin Antionetti detailed the charges, a friend of the victim's family seated in the courtroom gallery nodded her head and wiped tears from her eyes.

A short time later, Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil ordered the four held without bail, citing the egregiousness of the allegations."

I hadn't heard about this part until late this evening. So basically they beat this guy and demanded ransom from his mother during the event.

"For the first time, authorities alleged that Hill, who knew the 18-year-old victim from attending the same alternative school in Aurora, first beat the victim in the back of a van after he became angry that the teen's mother was contacting him by Facebook about her son's whereabouts. Prosecutors said Hill demanded $300 from the victim's mother if she wanted her son back."

Are you calling for them to be Lynched? They deserve to serve everyone single year that they are sentenced to, but let's not return to the days when black people were killed for crimes that did not carry death as a punishment.

Can't believe I'm seeing such shit on DU.

Stop trying to make this about race, these evil bastards deserve to rot in jail for what they did to this mentally challenged man.

What do you think putting someone under a jail means? I'm sick of this blind eye to racism on DU. The Poster called for a lynching. Take your "stop making this about race" shit to Free Republic.

when you're talking about someone who did something soooo awful that they don't deserve a bed inside, it has ZERO racial meaning whatsoever. I'm purposely not bringing up the fact that this has already been deemed a racial hate crime.

They have committed acts so heinous they don't get to associate with the "normal" prison population, upstairs. Don't see why this is so hard to get...

And race has no bearing. If races were reversed, would call for same thing. Sheesh.
