Floridas attorney general finally broke her silence on accepting a campaign contribution from Donald Trump and then promptly dropping her investigation of his phony university.
Pam Bondi addressed the ongoing scandal Tuesday morning in a news conference, where she blamed the media for placing her in a damned if she does, damned if she doesnt bind after Trump gave her $25,000, reported the Tampa Bay Times.
The attorney general said she had no regrets about taking the campaign donation she solicited from the real estate developer and reality TV star in August 2013, because she said she was certain shed done nothing wrong.
I just knew there was nothing improper, Bondi said. I will never let money from anyone affect what I do. Im proud of my office. Im proud of the work that we do.

(8,203 posts)sensitive - Bondi is an insult - pay to play - big boys game - highest execution rate...please, calling bondi a lady is an insult to ladies....I am a woman - and I absolutely find bondi deplorable ....
If you had returned the money and not gone to a fund raiser for you @ Trump's place then you
would not have taken a bribe but since you did take the money and go to a fund raiser @
Trump's place after which you dropped out of the investiigations into Trump U means you
took a bribe.

(14,531 posts)that reply made sense to her at 11:00 o'clock last night, after her 4th scotch on the rocks. She is finding out in the light of day, people aren't buying what she is selling.
she means, it would make it more obvious

How about on election night the voters reject Trump-Pence and elect Clinton-Kaine?
Because we need some good news.

(101,311 posts)even before you decide if there was a quid pro quo. Some people might not realise that, but Bondi claims to have legal knowledge, and to be an "attorney general". She's claiming she is proud she is clueless about the law, rather than admitting she know it was illegal.

Bondi works under Rick Scott so this Trump story
is bound to be just the tip of the iceberg.
