24. I was talking to my mother about something like this.

She went to a social engagement that had all walks of life there. The younger ladies she knows that were there are all solid middle class a few upper middle class and all of them going on about who had the most expensive purse.

We got to laughing, knowing some actual rich (multi-millionaire) families and they NEVER brag about how expensive their new coach purse costs or their new car or truck costs. They will talk about all the features and the only time price is brought up is if they got it for a steal.

Calling the background trash, yes is apropos for Mein Trumpf
but, one should do some research on the photo, this was a repost of a story on Raw Story
The speech was made at Alumisource, a respectable sized scrap metal processing facility. , not at a trash/rubbish transfer station.
The background consists of bales of Aluminum beverage cans and aluminum scrap.
Each bale of aluminum cans (UBC's) is worth approx $1,600 each. Each bale of Aluminum sheet (MLC) is worth approx. $2,000 each.
There is a major and significant difference between trash and scrap metal.
The scrap industry is not the trash industry.
It costs millions of dollars to build a proper sized scrap metal facility.
The really interesting thing about this speech and it's location, is that the majority of scrap metal generated in the U.S. is exported, and that the export market is what drives the pricing of scrap metal.
And the subject of Agent Orange's speech was against world trade.
Kinda like when McCain gave a speech pimping nuclear power plants in front of the nuke plant that had such a major melt down that it resulted in coining the phrase "China Syndrome".
