Idiocy and the Return of Darkness - a delish read

http://thebeachsideresident.com/2012/06/idiocy-and-the-return-of-darkness/
<snip>
“I don’t care what anyone says, history will prove me right. George W. Bush was the greatest president this country has ever had!”

It has been almost four years since I overheard that line, and it remains the single most moronic statement I have ever heard. (I feel dirty just having typed it out.)

Who, you may well ask, could come up with anything to top that monument to all things moronic? Mitt Romney! What could he possibly have said to rise to such heights of nonsensical notoriety? When speaking about former Vice President Dick Cheney, Romney called him, “A man of wisdom and judgment!” I am stunned! Granted, we already knew that three-fourths of Governor Romney’s foreign policy advisers held similar positions in the George W. Bush administration, so perhaps his understanding of both “wisdom” and “judgment” should already be suspect, but Dick Cheney?

Citing Dick Cheney for wisdom and judgment is like praising Caligula for his leadership and vision. It’s like applauding Amy Winehouse for her decorum and self-control. And as if this wasn’t enough, Romney went on to say, “That’s the sort of man I would want as a Vice President.” So who does he want as White House Chef, Hannibal Lecter? Maybe he could find someone like Pol Pot for Health and Human Services! Perhaps for some of you, I’m being too vague about my feelings concerning former Vice President Cheney. Others may not understand my reasons for such vitriol, so I’ll spell it out.

Then there is Mitt Romney. For Mitt Romney, a traitor has wisdom. For Mitt Romney, an international war criminal has judgment. The idiot who made the Bush statement was sitting on a bar stool with sixteen ounces-worth of Manhattan in front of him, so I can almost forgive his drivel. Romney has no such excuse. Nor does Dick Cheney. He has lied throughout his political career, though never so much as when he swore to “uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States.” I believe the only true statement ever made by Mr. Cheney is when he’s said, “Hi, I’m Dick.”

May Darkness consume you, Dick Cheney, for all you have done to the nation I love.

Not a good investment at all. Romney is a bobblehead. Better guard those votes and voting machines... this promises to be another take over coming on.

who wasn't a bobblehead since Nixon, at least.

Maybe Pappy Bush had a lucid moment or two, but I always thought that's why they let him get beat for his second term.
