Body of 2-year-old boy grabbed by Alligator at Disney resort has been recovered

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — The 2-year-old boy who witnesses said was pulled by an alligator into a lagoon near a Walt Disney World hotel has been found dead, a source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN on Wednesday.

Previous story:

The boy’s family was at movie night outdoors at the Grand Floridian resort when around 9 p.m. the boy waded into about a foot of water in a lagoon, authorities have said. Witnesses, including the boy’s horrified parents, tried to save him.

So sad. They did say the toddler was found "intact" and they are searching for the alligator.

My mind automatically jumps to suspicion, about the story. And that makes me feel really bad. But how many times have kids disappeared under one reported circumstance, only to find out that the truth was even more terrifying.

I admit I kept waiting to hear this story take off in a whole different direction. I wish I could shake that mindset.

was witnessed by at least one hotel guest from his balcony, in addition to the parents.

Like I said - it's somewhere I hate for my mind to go, but it always does. It started with that whole Susan Smith situation and just got reinforced by so many other cases.

Hopefully Disney World will enhance their beach signs with strong warnings.

parents bringing their kids anywhere near those beaches from now on (remember alligators can move fairly quickly on land too), should be charged with child endangerment.

I read a story, the other day, about some people out walking who encountered some alligators eating a human body, along side a canal. One can only imagine how many missing people are missing due to alligators.

the authorities would leave the alligators alone. There are already 5 or 6 alligators dead over this. It's not a murder, it's nature.

kidding me.

Seriously. It's Florida. There are alligators there. And you know what else? Snakes and those damned fire ants. Is Disney supposed to control those too?

Disney should have alligator warning signs...... But, "finding 5 alligators?" Take a wild guess as to how many others, and SNAKES and fire ants, and ticks live there too?

The only sign on the beach said No Swimming, not that There Are Alligators in this Lagoon. To find 5 (and more) gators in that lagoon and have a Disney made beach facing onto it without any protection, is reckless in the extreme. Disney CAN control that, and should have. It's little comfort to the Graves family but they'll (rightly) sue Disney for multi millions.
