at the hands of Tim Canova.
DSW takes big $$$ from the payday lender loan sharks, an industry so toxic that 20 states either outlaw it or sharply restrict it. Google recently barred payday loan sharks from advertising. DSW works to prevent increased regulation on these fucks, both on the federal and state level. But it couldn't possibly have anything to do with the $$$. After all, she's a Clinton dem! And like Hillary, she couldn't possibly be influenced by money.

Tim Canova only accepts small dollar donations.
DSW is strongly opposed to medical marijuana. She says it's a gateway drug and that legalizing medical marijuana will lead to fraud and abuse. She has no problem with ill medical marijuana users being sent to prison- for years.
Tim in his own words:
In Florida, I supported the 2014 medical marijuana referendum that garnered about 58 percent of the vote state-wide, falling just short of the required 60 percent mark. My opponent, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, is a drug warrior who opposed the medical marijuana referendum. Calling marijuana a gateway drug, she refuses to allow her constituents in South Florida, in consultation with their doctors, to decide for themselves whether to utilize this plant-based medicine to alleviate pain and other symptoms of various illnesses and the side effects of other medications

In 2008, DSW refused to endorse democratic challengers to three of the most right wing Florida republican congress critters, saying she didn't want to stab he repuke friends in the back. I mean what the fuckity fuck Fuck.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) is getting brutally walloped in the liberal blogosphere for refusing to endorse the Democratic challengers to three potentially vulnerable GOP incumbents in Florida.
Liberal bloggers are irate that Wasserman Schultz, who co-chairs the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committees Red-to-Blue program, has declined to endorse the Democrats running to unseat Cuban American Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Lincoln Diaz-Balart and his brother, Mario Diaz-Balart.
Wasserman Schultz says she doesnt want to stab GOP members of her own delegation in the back. But liberal bloggers say shes killing her own while aiding and abetting the enemy.
Just for the record, Im not in favor of knocking out all Republicans either so perhaps I have a bit of the Wasserman Schultz sin in my own file. I was for instance supportive of Maryland Eastern Shore anti-Iraq war Republican Wayne Gilchrest who lost his primary battle recently.
But the Diaz-Balart brothers and Ros-Lehtinen are not moderate in any sense of the word, are embracers of Bushs wars, and have been responsible for sustaining a counter-productive embargo of Cuba by the United States that 183 nations of the world voted against us on this past year in the United Nations.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz is helping to defend the political turf of not the best in the Republican Party but the worst.

This is not the first time that she has put her parochial interests ahead of her party. Back in 2008, when she was running the DNC's "Red to Blue" project, she famously abstained from supporting three Democratic challengers to incumbent Republicans the Diaz-Balart brothers and the ever-insufferable Ileana Ros-Lehtinen friend to terrorists who blow up passenger jets because she was friends with all three of them.
A day later, Wasserman Schultz and Ros-Lehtinen lavished compliments on each other at a Washington luncheon with Miami-Dade commissioners. "I can't say enough good things about Ileana Ros-Lehtinen; she has been my friend since I was first elected to office," Wasserman Schultz said, noting she relied on Ros-Lehtinen's advice to help balance the demands of elected office and motherhood.

Is there more? You betcha, but the above gives you a rough outline.
It's a steep hill, but I hope he beats her in the primary.

(2,382 posts)... given the blatant corruption and dirty dealing DWS has already exhibited against Bernie, you can bet she'll go to afterburners and stop at nothing to protect her own reelection. This should get interesting.

"Half the Democrats in America support Bernie. Independents overwhelmingly support Bernie.
Comparing them to brain dead zombie Trump Supporters is reeeeeely gonna get them to donate to, doorknock for, and campaign for our "nominee" this fall?
Calling non-violent people violent for political points is beyond stupid. It is actually massively helping Trump. "
There's more....

(962 posts)there is a whole lot of money in her district - a whole lot of money. Two months ago I moved just south of her district. I used to think I had been around some pretty rich people years back when I lived in NJ. South Florida is fully stocked with 1/10th of 1%ers. I'm sure they have her number and I'm sure she has their backs.

(15,435 posts)She threw in with these 1%'s a long, long time ago and it's well known that she hob-nobs with MANY Repubs. Why do you think she's never been Primaries???
Please donate to Tim, NOT TO THE DNC... he'll NEVER get a single RED CENT from them!
He's smart, intelligent and very informed AND he only takes small donations like Bernie, BUT HE NEEDS $$$$$$!!! He was on Thom Hartmann recently and said he was raising money but needs more. I don't know the head to head numbers down there, but DO NOT PUT ANYTHING PAST HER! She knows how to make others get into the mud for her! And she DOES NOT SEEM WORRIED at all!

(80,708 posts)I find that difficult to believe.
I think she's trading on being a connected party poobah and getting lobbyist money from the payday lending, private prison, liquor and pharma industries (the last three, I'm sure, totally unconnected to her enthusiastic support of incarcerating pot users) and that's how she's managed to stay there.
But I suspect her favorability ratings are pretty bad at this point.

(18,641 posts)It takes a lot more than this to unseat a congresswoman. Usually an affair with a minor or blatant theft.
Everybody hates The Congress, but everybody loves their Representative. Will angry Florida liberals in Lauderdale, Miami and Palm Beach be enough to unseat her? We'll see.

(1,555 posts)I love DSW. I loathe DWS, on the other hand.
DSW has so many great styles to choose from at discount prices.
DWS makes my blood boil and I cannot stand to even look at her.
DSW offers everything from timeless wing tips to the casual sandals, or even fleece-lined slippers. Who doesn't love that?
DWS offers nothing but shady dealing with unsavory people. Who could possibly like that?
Just wanted to set the record straight: DWS= BAD; DSW= fantastic footwear at amazing prices.
Thank you for your time. Please carry on with your brilliant posts. I agree with all that you stand for, but needed to clear this up.

(4,234 posts)It's in races like this, where there's a good chance that a pol on the payroll of big corp and billionaires might get defeated, that the voting machines can make sure the small margin between victory and defeat is turned in the favor of the corp friendly pol.
If Canova is defeated, check the raw exit poll data and see how it compares with the results, not the "adjusted" data since the adjusted data is basically just the original data "adjusted" to fit the results (so-called) of the election.
A good source for the data is Jon Simon and Election Defense Alliance:

(12 posts)DWS is undermining Bernie every chance she gets. And--- Bernie polls lots better against Trump,,,,,what is she thinking? Of course, it was rigged from the get-go for Hillary, they never took Bernie serious--until now. And no, I am not a fan of her either. Watch for her to pull bogus stuff at the convention......

(8,217 posts)I remember when she took over and changed the way they solicited donations via email.
The change in tone was stark. It went from seeking progress to doom and gloom all the time.
It was a losing campaign method, relying on fear to get people to vote and donate for them.
That was when I unsubscribed to their emails as it was grating, sad and depressing. It sucked out any enthusiasm I may have had at the time.
It was easy to tell people to vote, but beyond that, couldn't really donate. It made someone like me feel, "What's the point? Things are going to be awful regardless and nothing I do will help. I can't be part of this."
It looks like they didn't learn from that time. It is not enough to say "They will ruin things! Vote for us to keep the status quo." This is not paying attention to the fact that the status quo at the moment is pretty damn shitty.
America then is faced with the choice between trying to maintain the status quo which is going backwards slowly, or moving forwards in an unknown direction, but knowing it is Trump, the wrong way.
I've already accepted that I have to lower expectations yet again. I've been trying to console myself lately since I don't think Hillary can win, just looking at her campaign itself. Reading the tea leaves.
Out of the three candidates left, she is the one with the least amount of individual donors. Many of those donors are maxed out.
The message is be afraid.
That is a losing message, one that brought about losses for the democrats in the house and Senate. That is the message of someone like DWS...
She needs to go... though I feel like she's going to be used as a scapegoat for all the ills that have plagued the democrats in the primaries, and she can be blamed for a lot of it... but it is not all her.
