Tax breaks and loopholes for the 0.01%...

...do not translate into jobs for the working class.

A WPA sized kick start from the Federal government would however create jobs that would put money into the hands of those that would spend it.
This energizing of the economy would help the private sector business and "mom and pop" shops immensely especially if a "buy America first" provision were enacted as part of the rules.

Where in the corporate sector are they willing to jump start this economy?
Where in the corporate sector do they give a rat's ass about the working class in America?

Only the Federal government has the size and resources to start this.

...on bridges, stone walls, etc. - just saw a bunch of them on walls in Maui - yet, we do nothing like that now.

It's tragic that we're failing to employ people, and also leaving such a poor legacy for future generations

Now we are okay because Europe is in such bad shape so people are running to the dollar. Someday that will be over and interest rates will rise and all the money we borrowed will become an albatross around our necks cutting into our ability to fund all the things the middle class has gotten used to.
