Posting a plea for sanity in DU-Primaries is like

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by one_voice (a host of the General Discussion forum).

being black at a Trump rally.

I was incredibly stupid enough to do a post asking for some sanity over there. So here's some advice. Don't bother to do it.

On edit: Here's the post. http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511495539
I suggest you don't read the ensuing replies. They will only make your head hurt.

When you stated your support was for one candidate over the other. I hope other vocal supporters learn from your gaffe. It is simply stirring the pot. And this is meta.

There were several DU hosts participating on DU when I first alerted (as there are now). It is interesting to note who they are.

Perhaps looking at the forest instead of the trees might explain the situation to you.

Generally speaking, when you keep saying or thinking "If only everyone else just saw things my way" or "Why are so many people against what I am proposingsaying?" then it's time to look inward to see if the problem is with yourself.

Basically, stop blaming others for not agreeing with you.

For example, while GD does manage to generate some levity from time to time, for some vocal posters that shouldn't be done. Ever. Because there's no room for levity when you're serious about -everything- all the time.

And never start a thread in Cooking & Baking about cleaning your cast iron pots and pans with harsh scrubbers and soapy water

"Suck it up and vote for my candidate" is not a plea for sanity no matter how you phrase it. There are those who honestly do not believe the course of action you suggest is the definition of sanity. You may disagree with them, but you don't get to tell them that your personal perspective is the only rational one.

11. That 'pledge to vote for Hillary' line has been posted there about a hundred times before.

It's hardly the definition of 'sanity'. People who disagree can make reasonable arguments for their position. I don't happen to be one of them, but still.

Also, DU is only a small sample of Democratic Party voters. Even if you convinced every person who had ever registered here to vote for Hillary, it wouldn't do much good. What could do the party good is taking note of sentiment at DU and considering how it might reflect broader sentiment among voters. If the party pushes a candidate through the process who a sizable portion of prospective voters flatly say they will not vote for, and that candidate loses, it's the party's fault. You can't blame the public for not buying your product.

I did no such thing. Pledges are for Republicans, fools and human sheep.

Nice straw man. Do you have any further advice for me, Yoda?
