Which Flank Do You Put Your Heavy Artillery On???

I'm a female Civil War fanatic ...just like the president of Harvard. When these troops hit head on, the flanks were vital....a turned flank was fatal. You rushed your big guns to reinforce the enemies strongest flank. Mitt is scared shitless of his right flank and is unable to get away from them and go to the center. He needs all of them or he cannot win. I say we bring the guns to that right flank of his and destroy his weak relationship with them instead of thinking this fight is for a handful of politically ignorant "independents " in the middle!! I.e..a Mitt ain't no stinkin' conservative campaign!!! Blow their minds and you blow his flank and take him from the rear!!!!

You've stumbled on to what political discourse in this country is really about, and have found the real meaning of what right vs. left. is really about here. Begone!

Seriously, however, I think you're right.

We could set to spin some serious propaganda painting him as a weak RINO to those to his right.

Free Republic is, actually, already on it!

The reason to collapse a flank is to get in the rear and then kill the enemy from both sides. or enfilade him and take the whole shitten sheebang. out...

The tea party people aren't clowns. If we present a unified front over things like civil liberties, and calls to limit drone violence, we could find some of them standing with us. But without a serious push to get results in these areas, they would write us off.

Despite myself, I like some of these Ron Paul guys. I feel like they see the heaviness, the urgency of the situation in ways that others don't but should, though I feel like there are better ways than the solutions they propose. But putting a hand out to them means a distancing of our own party from things like support of wall street 'moderates', from the traditional sources of power in Washington politics. And in a lot of ways, that is sadly a tall order.

Or at least an awful lot of them, it would take one simple thing: medical marijuana decriminalizatuon. Colorado and Nevada are swing states.

And there are more wicked things than a bowl shared twixt friends.

But its not in the cards. Obama has made his stance on the J-weed clear, and it won't go that way. Nor do I see a back down on the drone attacks. So while I stand with some guys in a lot of states, and down in Texas fighting the good fight, I sadly don't see things moving that way at this time.

Peace.

Spend a few bucks many times over on a "hit and run" campaign strategy against the "far right" flank, while keeping boots on the ground in areas you have a realistic chance of winning.

could bolster a sagging flank. I'm a miniatures wargamer, done some 20 ft Normandy, Berlin, and Leningrad fights. And a few AM Rev games.

What would Sun Tzu say?

If Mitt keeps his far right positions, he cant win, thats an untenable position for Mitt, we should encourage him to stay far right.

On the other hand youre right in the sense of we can successfully show the far right Mitt is no conservative, what will the far right do? If they stay home thats great.

SO if we tell the far right Mitt is no conservative, will Mitt work extra hard to convince the far right that he really is one of them.

Sun Tzu might tell us to keep Mitt in an untenable position, Mitt wants to fight in the general election from the middle, as you correctly point out. That is one position he musnt be allowed to take.....

Just reading Sheridan. Meade would not let the cavalry loose as Lee did. Grant said fuck it and turned them loose from being wagon guards ...and Sheridan destroyed Lee. Time to destroy Mitt....take from our nation's history..it's more relevant.
