This is what Democrats are up against.

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Autumn (a host of the General Discussion forum).

Sanders would get an all out guffaw

For more than four decades, congressional leaders have invited the President's budget director to Capitol Hill to– at the very least– ceremoniously testify about the proposed vision, but this year, Obama's budget director Shaun Donovan was stiffed."

What did she ever do as a Senator anyway, except fail to get a flag-burning bill passed?

that Obama can't do something, or that Sanders couldn't do something because of Republicans. All it points out is that NO candidate, including Clinton, is going to 'do something' unless it's something Republicans want, which probably makes it something we don't want. So it's not any sort of black mark against Sanders that isn't just the same against Clinton.

So many of the attacks at Bernie come from a loser attitude. Nobody loves me, everybody hates me, I think I'll eat some worms.

He's used the microphone quiet well in the congressional chambers so why wouldn't he do the same or even more so as President

One thing we all have to agree with if we're not in denial is Bernie fights like hell for us the people. He reads the bills and if there is shit in it he can't stomach he'll not vote for it no matter what good is in it or how the bill is named. I like that in my congress.

So many bills are named one thing when its really just the opposite that they're trying to push though. 'CONs are who do this mostly.

He was too busy trying to compromise with the republicans than to deal with us.

Now, he wants us to say he's "progressive."

Am I the only one who found his attempts at compromise to be largely disingenuous? I think he knew they wouldn't cooperate, yet he wasted time and energy doing so.

We all think he's so intelligent, right? How can we think this when he was so naive, and wasted the enormous political capital we gave him in 2008.

Imagine if O fought for universal health care the way he fought for the TPP. (The ACA was a giveaway to insurance companies. People still can't afford to get to sick.)

I believe that Bernie will lead us toward a better future, because he will be an "active" president, and he has the right ideals.
