The Abortion Mill Conservatives just Love......

I dont recall seeing any of this mentioned during the Planned Parenthood debate. IMO, this information is pretty relevant. My apologies if this has been posted already. PP and Israel are both subsidized by the US tax payer. Dont see how one performing abortion is OK, and the other performing abortions is cause for ending subsidies.

The US government gives approximately $3 billion a year to the state of Israel in military aid. Money, being a fungible thing (H/T to McSuderman) that means that the $3 billion they get from us is 3 billion of their own money that they aren’t spending on military hardware. Some of that 3 billion dollars allows the Israelis to build, support, and protect illegal settlements in the West Bank. Some of it goes to support other Israeli activities that are diametrically opposed to American national security goals in the region and the world. Some of that money makes room in the Israeli economy for spending on Israel’s socialized medical system. Conservatives just loves them some socialized medicine in other countries, don’t you know.

pro-choice issue. It's more of a flip flop on the use of tax dollars.

On one hand the GOP is against tax dollars being used for abortions. They make the claim Planned Parenthood is using tax dollars for abortions, based on the premise they receive tax dollars and do abortion. Even though tax dollars are used for other things and not abortions. Their argument is that it's not possible to keep tax money and non tax dollars seperate.

On the other hand, they are OK with Israel accepting tax dollars and having state sponsored abortions. They dont seem to use the same premise of, if you accept tax dollars and perform abortions, you are using US tax dollars for abortion.

IMO, this is simply a GOP flip flop of convience. Hell, it could probably be argued that they are using a method of forced abortions because they force female soldiers to have abortions or else they are dismissed from the military and lose all benefits. Thats a very fine line if you as me.
