Graham was an intemperate child, making faces and noises out when others were speaking, butting in, trying to mount his indignation or resolve or heroic presence on a charger, a pathetic child's sneer when he could get the audience to applaud etc. Even the audience got tired of his shameless attempted manipulation. Rhetorical man-handling. Being mugged by words. Etc. It was great.
